Question about SMC WIRELESS-G SMCWPICG 802.11G EZCONNECT PCI WIRELESS ADAPTER
When i first got this together with a Linksys wireless-G broadband router with 4port switch, it worked fine until i moved my broadband connection to another line and another space within the house.
Now I can't get into broadband connection even if i plug in the LAN cable and do a direct dial from just the SMC router without using the Linksys. A technical guy said could be a prefix auto dial connection in this SMS. I have done a reset by pressing the reset button behind, off the modem, restart my laptop but still can't connect.
Anyhow can help me with the auto dial configuration? pls email to email@example.com, if you have any answer
The Linksys router can be communicated with by going to Start>Run>type 'http://192.168.1.1' and when the logon screen appears use 'linksys' for username and 'admin' for the password. There you can reset defaults, view status, configure all router functions, et al, including restore defaults. Pressing the little reset button has reset levels that vary with the amount of time it is pressed -basically discharging a capacitive charge. Remember that cable modems use DHCP whereas DSL uses PPPoE. ~Steve

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

do you have a Wireless Router + Broadband modem?
This is like a base station to which your remote wireless node communicates (to get connected to your home network and internet.
something like this http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=187337 for an ADSL connection.
If you are on cable, you can either get a Router similar to the one above (but for cable) http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1138056788757&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=8875739789B01
or if your Cable modem has LAN ports you may just be able to use an "Access Point" to add Wireless capabilities. http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1126536803676&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=0367639789B22
