well i can rule the lint and vent out because that things is clean as can be. i will check the element for continuity and where is the thermostat located? on the element it has two red wires connected on the side of the element. is this the spot to check for continuity?

With the dryer unplugged 220v is not fun
with a meter, and first disconnecting cables to each component and reconnecting them after the test is complete
check the continuity of the element, it may have burned out
check continuity of the thermostats on the heater housing and fan housing,
check the interior of the fan body for sox and lint

not a solution, yet

yes, disconnect one cable going to each device, so that other parts of the circuit dont affect the meter, then stick an ohmmeter across each device

thermostats vary in location, they are on fan housing, exhaust duct, heater housing, fan body, in different models

look for objects similar in appearance to

or some have 3 cables, some 2

Gas dryer will heat but won't dry clothing

You may have a clogged air vent, check that the air vent hose is not smashed, if it is not smashed, have your dryer vent cleaned professionally, and recheck the dryer operation, dryer vents should be cleaned every other year for optimum performance.

The dryer is taking 2-3 full cycles to completely dry the clothes. I have already unplugged the dryer, checked the hose, completely cleaned it of any dirt that was clogged a little. Also used the vaccum...

if you have heat in the dryer you have a blockage somewhere in the dryer or the vent line, how long is the vent line?also try removing the vent line from the back of the dryer and run it to see if it dries,i had a guy tell me he cleaned the vent line,i stuck a leaf blower in the vent line and blew out a birds nest.also check the outside duct,if there's a cage or screen on it remove it and keep it off and then blow out the line. also the duct that the lint filter slides into should be removed and cleaned.send the model number so i can look up your machine,if it's gas you could have bad gas coils, they work fine until they heat up like 15 to 30 minutes then no heat until they cool down and then they will work for a few minutes and stop again, send model number off of the dryer, open the door and look around the opening, you should see a tag with the model and serial number.

Kenmore 88752 - Dryer won't heat

Hi there,

We had the same problem and I pulled the unit out and discovered the dryer lint vent pipe was kinked inside the wall and full of water. It took be a full day of work but I ran a new vent pipe up into the attic and up to a static vent and now the dryer works great.

We had a service guy from Sears come out and he tested the heater strips and said they were fine and suggested I work on clearning the lint vent pipe

It worked great.

No heat

The most common cause of no heat to an otherwise functioning dryer is failure of the thermal cutout.
As well as the electric line fuses in the circuit there are devices that look like this 13889aa.jpg or this 284f4e0.jpg screwed to the exhaust air duct with wires to the terminals
, inside the dryer. If there is a lint blockage in the duct or fan or outside vent hood, the air tempoerature rises and melts out this thermal cutout (also thermal fuse, heat protector, heat cutout & any other names different makers use) before causing a fire.
Test with an ohmmeter or battery and lamp bulb, conducts good, no conducts fail-replace.
Despite the number of models of dryer there are only a few thermal fuses, and the local parts guy WILL have the blown one on the shelf, as GE if not as roper part.

Whil the dryer case is opened is a good time to vacuum out the exhaust vents, fan impeller, and vent hood. ounce of prevention and all that
