Eating the tape
When I start to record or play back a little picture pop's up and it start's to eat the tape. I have never cleaned it would that help? I know when I play it back if it is fast forwarding or rewinding it wont do it.

- my palmcorder eats a tape in vcr mode. the menu button never gives a solid red light, it's always blinking. I tried to put a cleaning tape in it and the camera ate that too..- GuestMar 01, 2008

It sounds as if the takeup spool isn't doing it's job. It could be caused by a slipping belt or slipping clutch assembly. Unless you know your way around the unit (internally) I'd advise a repair shop have a look at it.
