Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Wii cursor not showing up!

So yesterday i played brawl for awhile and then turned off the wii like normal.
Then today i turned on my wii and went through all the normal screens,
but the wii-mote cursor does'nt show up..
The home button, as well as the +, -, and power buttons work fine,
but the cursor does not.
I've never had this problem before,
so im not sure what im supposed to do..
I have already unplugged the wii,
Pressed the sync button on the wii-mote [both of them..],
Replaced batteries in both wii motes and the sensor bar,
turned off and on my sensor bar [its not the one that came with the wii..],
and i did a soft reset [using the wii-mote].
Did i miss something?

Hi,
Sounds like you need a soft or hard reset.
try unplugging the console from the mains for 5-10 minutes, then try turning on re-booting. remove any memory cards et,c. when you startup.

Cursor moves spoardically across screen

# Check that the Wii sensor bar is on or below the centre of the TV,and there is no obstruction with clear line of view between it and the Wiimote
# Go in Wii settings and check there are only 2 dots visible. If yes, crank up the Sensor bar sensitivity to 5 with 2 dots still visible, else adjust it till the 2 dots become stable at whichever sensitivity
# If there are more than 2 dots, there is some IR source in the rooms which is disturbing the wireless connection between the Wiimote and the sensor bar, so that source has to be removed from the room

Nothing else works, then resync the remote. Remove the batteries, wait couple of inutes, reinsert, and resync through the 2 red buttons.

Salutations Bloopdinkle,

Do you know if your Wii is connected to a surge protector? You can get power surges at many times especially when the power goes out, or even comes back during a storm.

If you do have a surge protector connected you may want to see if your fuse needs to be reset. If not I don't think that the Wii's manufacture's would cover surge damage.

Sorry I didn't have happier news.
