I have been running Adobe 7.0 Pro with Windows XP for years. Recently, the program has started to slow, particularly when I email drawings. Typing text in the message is very slow and unresponsive. I often have to wait for the program to catch up with me. Is there some setting I should adjust?

SOURCE: Adobe acrobat v7 can't open file
Do this:
1. Exit Acrobat.
2. Choose Start > Run, and type: %APPDATA%\Adobe\Acrobat\ into the Open text box. Click OK.
3. Right-click either the 6.0 or 7.0 folder, and choose Delete.
4. Start Acrobat and attempt to print.
Note:Acrobat preference files contain application settings such as toolbar arrangements. When you restart Acrobat, new preferences are created automatically based on application defaults. Deleting preference files will not result in the loss of saved documents.

SOURCE: adobe reader error message
It is possible that somewhere along the line adobe reader became conflicted with an update from something else ect.
First thing you should try is uninstalling adobe reader completely in add/remove programs. Then Install the latest version of adobe reader.
This should put an end to the error messages and restore functionality to normal.
Post back if you need any further help.Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Hi. You'll be better off downloading and installing the tryout for Adobe Indesign than PageMaker. InDesign is the improved version of PageMaker and it can open your old PM7 files. With your current PC specs, you can definitely run that software.
