SOURCE: toshiba 50h71 red light after fixing the convergence chips

Did you check to be certain none of the resistors were burned or open that power the ICs ? This is fairly common for one or two of the convergenvce resistors to be open when the ICs go out. Also double check the iC pins to insure that none of the pins are bridged with solder. If you need more assistance please let me know.

Sounds like the power supply went south on you.

Its likely that one of the supplied voltages is missing or low coming out of the regulated power supply. Its not something that you'll be able to do yourself. If you call a Toshiba authorized service center, expect to spend $250-400 to resolve this.

I have a new toshiba 26dl833b and there is no power or a red stand by light- can you help?

Check and replace its main power supply regulator board. Contact any service technician. Products powered by electricity should be serviced or repaired only by experienced professional technicians. Any attempt to service or repair the product by anyone else could result in serious injury or death. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electrical shock. Instead, contact the nearest service centre.

Toshiba 51hc85 will not show picture red power light flashes where is reset button and or fuses What else could it be

This set does not have a reset button. The flashing light means shutdown and the most common cause is a short in the Convergence circuit.

Way to prove or disprove this is someone has to get at and unsolder both chips used--usually two stk-392-110 or similar--18 pins each.

If set comes on then one chip is bad but both must be replaced.

There are resistors around the chips that fail and that triggers the shutdown. Also most of these have pico fuses that are not glass and are tied to different areas of the set--one of them goes and shutdown is the result--they are green or orange and look like a resistor but have the amperage marked on the board next to them---two of them protect the convergence circuit and are usually 3 to 5 amp---can be tested with set unpowered just like any fuse--no reading across and bad.

set may have as many as 7 of these all in or near the power supply.

Repleaced lamp on Toshiba DLP 52HM84... still wont turn on. It goes through the auto start up 8 times and still no screen. The red and green lights blink at the same time. What does this mean?

The fault is indicative of the lamp circuit, check the lamp fittings, check the power circuit and the ballast.
If the voltage insufficiency is present from the power supply it can lead to low current and thus the lamp will not power up. Also if the replaced lamp is faulty, not of original quality or if there are connector issues, this must be rechecked.
Check all the connectors on the power supply side and the motherboard. remove and reconnect.

This would be due to a power supply issue that would need to be serviced.

1. Check powersupply for any blown or bulging capcitors, replace them if there are.
2. check embedded fuses with a voltage meter and make sure there not closed.

www.teexp.com does repair in certain area's you may want to check them out as well.
