Question about Samsung RS105N Remote Control
Our Samsung HL-R6178W DLP TV stops responding to the Samsung remote after we have used our Onkyo remote to adjust the Onkyo receiver. The TV will only start working again after it has sat on or off for 20 or 30 minutes without using any remotes. Then it goes back to working normally. We also have a Yahama receiver and it's remote causes the same problem with the TV. Our DVD players remote does not seem to cause the same problem.

I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.
Confirmed with Samsung tech support. Problem is with remote. to fix, simple take the batteries out of the remote. Press and hold the UP Volume button for 2 Mintues (no cheating, it has to be at least 2 minutes), this Reset's the Remote Control. Put the batteries back in. Bob's your uncle. all fixed.

You can use your own SAMSUNG remote but some of the guide options and dvr buttons may not come across. If your remote allows you to 'map' the buttons you could circumvent the issue.
Another suggestion would be the universal remote by harmony. great gadget. pricey though.

To program this Samsung remote to work with a TV, press the TV POWER button on the remote while entering a manufacturer specific code into the remote at the same time.
1. Switch the TV on. 2. Point the remote towards the TV. 3. Press and hold the TV Power button and enter the two-digit code for that brand of TV. If the code is compatible, the TV will switch off. 4. There may be more than one code for that manufacturer, so try them all until one works.
For Samsung TVs, one of the following codes should work: +01 +02 +03 +04 +05 +06 +07 +08 +09
