On the screen the words "Hardware problem" came on one day when I turned on the unit. Is there anyway I can just change out the hard drive? If I can do that myself where do I find the drivers to make the unit work?

Re: creative zen touch
If you replace the hardrive you dont need to install any drivers.
But you said it has a hardware problem not a hardrive, ou might have a component failure somewhere in the unit.
Put the player againts your ear and if you hear a clicking noise its a hardrive if not and sounds smooth, your HD is ok.

I won't delete them. It should just turn your player off and then it will work just fine once you turn it on again. Though I suppose I should mention that I found this thread because I'm looking to find how the reset button works... because I just used mine when my player was seriously jacked up and now it won't even turn on at all. But not to scare you, you shouldn't have that problem (and if you do your player's beyond saving anyways).
Possibly not a very techical solution, but there's a tiny hole on the base, on the right. get a paperclip or something, push it into the hole and it'll turn off. charge it, possibly might need to be left for a day, then turn it back on. it will need to reload the library, but should work fine after then (this has worked for me several times, once after dropping it down a cliff...)
Have you tried to load the firmware? First you'll need to download the firmware to your PC from Creative's website: Click here. After you've downloaded it, connect your Zen via USB to your PC and open the firmware icon, then click "Upgrade."

Sounds like a bad motherboard to me. However, it may just need a firmware update. Have you tried to update the firmware yet?
If not, go to www.Creative.com
-->Follow the correct language and country links
-->Select the correct options for Zen Touch
Download the firmware and try to upload it to your Zen Touch.
If your Zen Touch is not recognized by the computer, its best to buy another MP3 player, as your motherboard is bad.
