If you put 32V capacitors instead of 16V on a power supply circuit, they will work the same, providing that they have the same capacitance, in your case 1000uf.
However, next time there is some problem again (eg. a wrong voltage) , instead of blowing the capacitors, it will blow something else, probably more expensive , and more difficult to diagnose and replace.
Capacitors are also often safety components, and they blow to save the rest of the circuit.
Always better to stick to factory recommendation, when possible.

If the 35 volts fit in the space provided for the 16 volts, is OK to use them but they must be 1000uF.

Proscan 37LB30QD - No Power [Repair]

A friend just came to me with this TV complaining of issue with not powering and/or instantly powering off. Time of ownership about 2 years. I found that all three of the 470uF 16v capacitors on the power board to be blown. Because all three of this type were shot I replaced them with 1000uF. A higher voltage capacitor can be used if another 16v is not available. I believe Radio Shack only carries 35v. A cheap $5 fix for anyone else experiencing a similar issue and should apply to similar models of this TV. Repair time < 1 hr. Be mindful not to loose the four small brackets around the edge of the LCD when removing the rear cover.

Need to replace capacitor on dvd player

Hi, you should use a capacitor with same capacitance of 1000uF, but you don't have to stick to the original voltage spec. 1000uF 10V means it can withstand 10V load. 1000uF 50V means it can hold 50V for the same capacitance. Today I fixed my friend's and for that I used 1000uF 35V from RadioShack. It perfectly works - and it's better. But you shouldn't use 1000uF 5V - by now you already know that :)

CAPACITOR 1000 UFD 16V 105C FOR MITSUBISHI WD-52525 52 IN. TV

no you cannot substitute a 680uf 16v 105c in place of a 1000uf
if you want to put a better capacitor in place of the old 1000uf 16v 105c , then use a 1000uf 25v or 35v 105c
the voltage rating will allow the cap to better handle the circuit

ILO LCT32HA36 will not power on

same thing happened to my ilo. There are four capacitors that are bad on the power board. You can usually tell its bad because at the top it bulges out. Here is what you need to do. Unplug the tv, open up your ilo find the power board ( the power cord plugs into it). Then find the capacitors that are bad (they are the around things usually in blue color) and remove them by soldering the other side. On mine there where three 1000uf 16v and one 470uf 35v. Those are the ones that need replacing. I replaced them with a higher voltage rating 1000uf 35v and 470uf 50v. All you need to do is solder them back on but make sure you solder them back the right way (plus goes to plus on the board or you will be in trouble). I found the capacitors at radio shack for about 1.50 a peice. If you dont know how to solder look it up on youtube. If that does not work there might be couple more bad capacitors that need replaceing just need to find them and you can tell by a small bulging top.

JVC AV-35750 TV

I changed capacitor C926 (1000Uf 16V) on main board. It solved the problem. I went with 1000uF 63V as it was readily available...it's okay to go with higher voltage. It was hard to fit it on because of the larger size but it worked.

Here we go folks, the problem is a failed capacitor on the circuit board.
It is called C10 which is printed on the circuit board, it is located on the left side of the silver heat sink and above the doughnut shaped coil, you should replace it with the same or one catagory higher in voltage.(1000 mircofarad 16 Volt)
You should have some soldering experience to replace and please pay attention to the polarity. (Pos and Neg.)

Problem with starting

read on a forum that changing out c316 1000uF will fix the problem, mine will not turn on now, seems to have gotten worse over time. I will change the capacitor from 1000uF 10v to 1000uF 16v.  Look at your capacitor, mine looks like its ready to blow.  Most other capacitors on the board are rated at 16 volts.  I will be changing out the cap. to see if it works.

RCA DRC257N No Power

Had the same exact issue. RCA DRC257N was acting funny, frequently freezing up at HELLO screen, sometimes buttons would stop working during playback, requiring frequent unplugging to get back to working. Opened the case, pulled out the power board and noticed that capacitor C411 (1000uF 16V) was bulging out at top and bottom. Replaced with a $1.59 1000uF 35V capacitor from Radio Shack and all is back to good working order. Thanks.
