Question about Vehicle Parts & Accessories
Lost manual for my alarm and if my battery fails or remote inoperable, I will not be able to start car as immobiliser will operate and I do not have the code to disable it. This will be the manufacturers default code. Handbag stolen with instructions and model number.
This worked on my car when the clicker died:
Put the car in valet mode. Disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal. Put the keys in the ignition and turn it as far forward as you can (as though trying to start it) and let it spring back. Reconnect the negative terminal. This should reset the alarm to valet mode. Programming varies from brand to brand. Contact an alarm dealer and they can help reprogram the remote(s).
