if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this right click to install driver also click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settingsthere also click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar if his does not fix the problem
have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) you might have to get a portable usb sound card if you mean dont have a sound card installed hope this helps
Hi, first check in control panel, speekers; to see you sound is set correctly. If so, under control panel go to System, hard ware then device manager and click the + to open your audio device, if there are any problem you will see a yellow ?; right click over audio and try updating your driver. Hope this helps.
hello. sir. i have lost sound from my lap top Compaq presario C700 after installing windows XP. kindly help me. my laptop is also showing pproblem during installation of hard drive for same driver, every time i turn on my laptop. i donot have the installation mother board for the same laptop
you have to download the sound drivers and install the software..can't give you the exact driver as haven't specified much about your PC. still try to download one of the common driver like realtek- Ac97... from the following URL .. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
or try to download other audio drivers and install it...your problem would be fixed.
