- even if i try to print a photo it will print full length but only halfway across the page

Could be that you the printer set to letter instead of a4, they're very nearly the same size, but it will only print most of it.

Try disabling your antivirus & firewall, re-install printer software, and a new USB cable.

I've had this problem which I've solved by cleaning the nozzle. But it happens more and more frequent if I don't do frequent cleans.
