My system does not boot. From Compaq logo, it goes to the screen with options like safe mode, safe mode with xx, ..... I stared with windows normal mode (which is the default one). Then I got the Windows XP boot window. After a couple of minutes it comes back to the screen with options like safe mode, safe mode with xx, ..... So it is in the loop. Any suggestion would be grateful?

restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8
key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the
only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to
repair your computer you could select the option start at last known
configuration that worked this will tell you if and what file has been
corrupted or missing then you will know if its a hardware issue then select
restart if the problem still persists f8 back into safe mode you might need to
select your operating system to load into safe mode click start control panel
administration tools computer management in the left panel events + to expand
then system you will see all errors in right panel right click select
properties this will tell you what has occurred and the time it occurred you
might use the system restore to restore your system to an earlier time that did not have this error message or be able to work your way through it also During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key
to enter setup Press and hold that key during the boot
up process to enter BIOS scroll to PC health status
press Enter you should see some of the temperature settings available you could
disable the shutdown at the current the Temperature hope this will help
hi this sounds like you might have a corrupt boot system file, normally the way i have solved this is to re-install windows as a repair ( not a full install ) what i mean is start system up with windows disc in, when prompted go for install, when it gets to a page that says something like, do you want to run repair or clean install run repair, it will seem like it is installing but all its doing is repairing the corrupt file system, when it is finished your system will be as you had it before, apart from my documents, that cleans that out...hope this helps
click f5 before xp starts to load. choose halt on error and record code. google that code. most often it is a bios error after a new install (memory...etc.) sometimes you can boot into safe mode to undo a recent change. if all else fails reinstall...could be bad hard drive boot sector also.....check code first
When you power on start hitting the F8 button with one seconds pause until you get the "fail-safe" boot menu...
- Choose the fail-safe mode and wait until windows has loaded.
Ckick > Start > Run and type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and hit enter or press OK.
Choose the "autostart" tab and uncheck all options.
Check the mounting screws on the cd burner, yes you have to remove the keyboard and speakers, and check the two visible mounting scews.....I rescently bought a used presario and discovered the yo-yo didn't mount the cd rom properly(no screws)...The screen you saw flashed is the BIOS,also check fitment of all plug in type accessories......
