First things first, the HDD for this model is a 50 pin PATA drive. The same as that used in the 2nd generation Apple IPODs. This drive does not work in the majority of PC's and I strongly suspect that the prior owner will have a drive that is pretty useless to him/her.

The fact that the prior owner has also taken the caddy is more problematic as only Toshiba can provide a replacement.
I suggest that you ask the seller for the HDD or at least the caddy for the disk as without this you're limited to a machine that can boot only from a few specific External CD-ROM models or only via network PXE boot.
