First check all of the switches for wifi.

There may be one on the side, front or inside of the laptop. Also, there may be a small wifi icon on one of the keys of the keyboard you can use by holding a "Fuction" key.

If these don't work try opening the Device manager through the Control Panel. If you see a device there labled in red or yellow it may require a reinstall of wifi drivers.

Lastly, It could also just be bad.

Wifi isn't working

First Step:
Let me know the status for the following:
Is it detecting any Wifi Network?
Have you check if the Wifi is disabled?
Have you check if the drivers are rightly installed?
If the above things are working correctly. Then you can connect to your wifi network only by entering the Password.

Second Step:

Also you should release the IP address if entered manually. To check IP of your machine- go to local area network, then click on Properties, check for TCP/IP settings. If the IP is set for Automatic then ping the IP of your Wifi Network in command prompt.

try reinstalling the WIFI turn it on to be detected after installing go to My Network Places and then click View My Networc connrctions it shoul be there

651 error ,first talk to your ISP but also you can check in the device manager -if the driver is working properly if not reinstal it.

My ipaq h5550 has wifi problems. I can't get onto to any network, period. the advice online by the so called "experts" is garbage. Are we all brain dead, or did somebody in the corporate machine release...

It can seem like no one knows what they are talking about, especially if the responder doesn't know what you have already done to troubleshoot the problem.

If I am redundant, I apologize. If you have iPAQ Wireless Pack for GSM/GPRS Networks, it simply will not work with windows mobile 03. As of 9-09, HP has no fix.

Make sure you have the latest drivers from HP. Pay particular note to network drivers, but also other updates can have an effect as well. If you have already tried the above, please leave more info on when the problem started and whether wifi shows availability.

I have installed uninstalled my laptop to the netgear wireless. It won't connect to the secured wireless but only to tthe unsecured It then says TCP?IP disabled for this connection

Initially, which is the Netgear, the WiFI / AP router or the wireless networking card of the laptop?

Offhand, that there are at least two (2) networks that could be detected by the laptop indicates that the WiFi is both receiving and transmitting (it works and therefore the issue is settings & configurations). Which of the networks is yours; the secured or unsecured?

Alternately, determine the SSID of your WiFi network and the PASSKEY used or the security system used (if one is used in your system/network). Additionally, are you using the Netgear Smart Wizard Wireless Assistant or the Windows built-in Wireless Network Connection?

For the secured system, use the PASSKEY determined as per above; for the unsecured, it may be employing MAC filter, try manually inputting the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.

Error message it says disk read error occured

first of all plz inform me that is your notebook operate or not. if not then it is better to install the new os. other wise plz use anivirus software to detect the viruse, if may cause due to the virus.

go to networks and sharing centre. There youll find an option called create a network. Select network type as 'adhoc network' and give a name. on your friends pc connect to this network
