Television played fine, even after recently adding cablevision. You can see the green light & hear it turn on, it will have sound for 1- 3 seconds, then the audio stops and the green light blinks 3 times, 2 times, then 1 time. It does this sequence for three times then it turns off. What can I do?
RCA TVs do this when they detect an overvoltage condition on startup. The reason they shut down is to prevent x-ray issues. If your set is having this problem there is a problem in the x-ray detection circuit or it is not regulating the high voltage. Either way you will probably need to take it to a professional as it would beyond your capabilities to fix it.

It sounds to be a panel fault. Contact any service technician, and make it sure. If you wish to get some screen-shots about faulty displays http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ check this link. Pull up previous posts there, either by its left side bar,

i am having the same problem. My Phillips 37" 37PF9431D/37I LCD High Definition TV won;t turn on. When I press the power button i hear a click and the green light comes on for a couple of seconds and then the red light appears. I can;t figure it out. Did you find a solution?
The power supply (AC adapter) is bad. It has enough power to light the red LED, but not enough to power the TV.http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=12+volt+5+amp+power+supply&_sacat=See-All-Categories
My Dad suggested unplugging the television as it might need to reset itself. We unplugged it, let it sit while I cleaned the back with the vacuum cleaner, plugged it back in and it works fine now.
It is most likely the power supply. If you see domed caps change them using a higher voltage cap. If it's 1000uf at 15vdc put in a 1000uf at 25 or 35 vdc. If this helps let me know.
Have you tried disconnecting the power from the wall? Or power cycling your entire entertainment center? Possibly even check to make sure the VGA cable (or any other cable) didn't somehow come looose?
