Trouble with the reserve on an item I had on an auction

Mistake was made with the price of my item. I had a $70.00 reserve on it and it went for $15.00 the first bid. Buyer very rude and very nasty. What do I do. Josephine Bieling bminis@aol.com

Hi bminis,

The sad truth is ebay doesn't and will not talk to users directly "live" on the phone. When I called these corporate ebay numbers, all paths led back to their website. The closest thing to live interface with a rep is through "live chat" support available through their site. A thought, if you get a rep in a chat session, hit him up for phone number, be relentless, **** him/her off if you have to, but, get resolution to your issue. This is the best I have to offer, I hope it helps.

It means that the amount of money that you set up for your reserve (the amount of money that you needed to have for your item) price wasn't met. If the reserve isn't met then your item won't sell.

The word is "Reserve''. When

this means that this person listed with a minimum amount that they would accept, that the reserve, when the reserve has not been met, usualy the seller will relist the item and try again. if you had saved that item listing in your watched list and you try to go to it, it should tell you that the auction for that item ended and will indicate if seller has relisted..hope that helps..

Hi there!

It seems that it's been a month since you sent the email here on Fixya but I will help you on how you can do this on your future listings.
If your item has already bids you can no longer edit or revise but you can end the listing if there are still more than 12 hours left before it ends. you just need to cancel the bids first and end it. then you can relist the item as a fixed price listing depending on the price that the buyers like to pay for it.
the reserve price only works for auction and you need to put it before you list the item.

Here's how you can end your listing early:

1. Go to: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/end_early.html
2. Click the "End My Listing Early form" link. You may need to sign in.
3. Enter your Item number, and click the "Continue" button.
4. If there were no bids on your item, go to Step 6.

5. If there are bids on your item, choose either "Cancel bids and end listing early" or "Sell item to high bidder(s) and end listing early."
6. Select the reason that you're ending your listing early.
7. Click the "submit" button to end your listing.

Your listing will end and bidders will receive an email explaining that their bid has been canceled.

Hope this helps you on your future listings. Have a great day!

How does a reserve price work? If I outbid everyone and meet the reserve will I pay the reserve price or the higher bid price that I bid. Thanks Eddie

You'll pay a minimum of the Reserve price. You'll only pay more if someone else bids a higher price.

Once an auction goes past the Reserve, it works like any other normal eBay auction. The Reserve is just for the seller to prvent the item going for less than that price.

Hope this helps.

How do you put buy it now only

When you list item when it gets Choose how you'd like to sell your item Click on fixed price. that is the buy now and best offer link it is right after the Describe the item you're selling where you type in the description. If you would like to reserve a price on item right next to Choose how you'd like to sell your item click on Add or remove options to add reserve price. Good Luck

Hi, If you go to active listings on the right side of your ebay item it will have a drop down menu- relist, edit will be there. You should be able to edit item and change reserve price if this does not work because of time on auction left then you must end item which is in same place and instead of relisting there is sell similar item click this, then fix your reserve. Hope i helped. Lesnbek

How do you put a reserve price

A reserve price is the lowest price at which you’re willing to sell your item. If you don’t want to sell your item below a certain price, you can a set a reserve price. The amount of your reserve price isn’t shown to your bidders, but they will see that your auction has a reserve price that has not been met. If a bidder doesn’t meet that price, you aren’t obliged to sell your item. Once the reserve price has been met, the reserve price text is no longer displayed.
Why have a reserve price? Many sellers have found that too high a starting price discourages interest in their item, while an attractively low starting price makes them vulnerable to selling at an unsatisfactorily low price. A reserve price helps with this.
Note: The reserve price option is only visible in the online auction format; it’s not visible for fixed price or classified ad listings. It’s also not available for Multiple Item auctions.
All Reserve Price Auctions are subject to a Reserve Price Auction Fee.
You may lower your reserve price after you receive bids on the item.
Note: To keep eBay a safe place for buyers and sellers, eBay limits how bid history information is shown. User IDs are not shown—buyers are identified only as anonymous names throughout the duration of the auction, even if you lower the price. Only you, the seller, can see the user IDs of bidders on your items.

I have listed something on Ebay and it doesnt give me the option to put a reserve price

Here's how you can put a reserve price in your listing, follow these steps:
First, if you are lisitng an item using the Simple Form you need to switch to form with more choices first. In the Create your listing form please click the "Switch to form with more choices" link that you will see on the upper right hand corner of the Create Your Listing page. Then follow the steps below:
1. On Create your listing/Edit your listing page, scroll down and look for "Choose how you'd like to sell your item" section on yellow orange background.
2. Click on "Add or remove options" link within the same section.
3. Click "Set a minimum selling price for your item" for Reserve price and the "Save" button after.
4. This will appear: "No Reserve price set for this item. Change"
5. Click on Change to put a Reserve Price. Then click on Save button.

cheers!
