Memory dump

There are essentially two major causes of the physical memory dump screen: Running way to many programs at once, errors in the Windows registry. The first cause can be fixed rather easily. Simply run fewer programs or purchase additional RAM or processor upgrades. Your computer is running past its specified limits. But keep in mind the blue screen of
death should happen very infrequently. If you see the physical memory dump blue screen more often then the problem is errors in the Windows registry. This is a more abit of a harder problem to deal with. The registry is the most important component of your computer. The registry contains settings and information to run all software and hardware on the computers. When there are errors in the registry it disrupts the computers ability to communicate. When the system cannot compute, it freezes up and displays the Windows blue screen.
I found a registry cleaner that is free and works rather well. It is named cCleaner, has been around for some time and did I mention FREE...Download it from thelink below run it should clean up your registry...where good men fear to tread.

It seems like you've damaged the computer's registry or system files, to where the system cannot properly load up. You'll need to take it to a repair shop to see if they can take the computer back to a previous point manually through replacing the registry 'hives'.

In the future, please refrain from turning a computer off with the power button. It has the possibility of damaging your system's critical files, like what has happened here, and it can render your operating system useless. Always wait it out and see if the computer recovers - only turn it off after it's sat there for a long time.

My labtop is on but the screen is black, it is an HP Pavilion dv600

Hold down the power button unit the machine is totally off then reboot. If the screen appears then and boots normally then change the power options and set the monitor power save to off or longer. If still no screen display then there are three other possibilities.
  1. At the base of the laptop screen there is a little hole with a switch inside that switch maybe be stuck down using a small flat blade screwdriver lift switch but be very careful
  2. The monitor data cable loose or fallen out there should be a access panel at the base of the screen to open and check this.
  3. The monitor is faulty and will need replacing
Thanks J
