I wish I could tell you the precise cause of your problem but I can't as I am not that familiar with the inner workings of this model. Please use the following link and ask this expert as I am sure they can solve your issue.

Do you have cable or satellite service? How is the cable box or satellite receiver connected to the tv?

I hope you have received your answer but if not I can tell you the problem in general. YYou have a soldered connection-probably on a circuit board that is faulty. When the tv is first turned on it will work due to the lack of heat provided by current but once the current flows the solder no longer makes contact and therefore you lose the picture. You could either replace the faulty board or re-heat it yourself if you have the ability to dorrect the issue. Please keep me informed of your progress.

Sounds like maybe power supply, but I would check with flashlight 2 in from screen when the green light comes on to see if you have a picture, if so then you have a bad inverter board, if not then power supply problems. You can look for bad or bulged caps in PS

Scattered black lines appear then screen gos black, but still have good volume

Hello 4fiddy,

You have actually diagnosed your own problem, Let me explain; the line "I can slap the left side of the tv and picture will almost always come back on" This indicate some form of poor connection (cold solder joint). If you have a soldering iron, solder (circuit type not pipe type), and a multimeter. Use the soldering iron and solder to redo the cold solder joints , and then test it (the connection) with the multimeter.

I hope this helps

Thank you,
