Question about Mitsubishi WT-46805 46" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mitsubishi WT-46805 Problem with image on screen. While looking at tv the image is cast with a yellow look. When looking at the projector units from the backside, the blue one is not firing. Yet below the unit there is a glow that seems to be the same with all three units. What may cause this unit to be out, even though it intermittently comes on and works properly when on?

Most probable cause is a cracked or bad solder joint on th blue CRT drive board which is the small board attached to the bottom of the blue CRT

Opening a mitsubishi wt-46805 HDTV

Pretty sure you just pull the front lower cover from the side edges.
And then there is a smaller cover with a few philips screws holding it (lower front) , to remove the upper section you then remove the screws just under the screen edge about 5-6 screws. unplug the two cables and slide the screen straight up and pull it out, hold it with one hand on the bottom and one on top so you don't drop the screen.
hope this helps you can get the actual service manual here for a few bucks
thanks
Eric

Mitsubishi WT 46805 ~ Picture gone..... :0(

Good Day, Corri;

It sounds like the TV has a Circuit problem in the convergence circuit. If it comes and goes then the concern can be corrected by re-soldering the 'conv' output IC"s. A semi-minor repair and cost.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
