If you have HD TV it is best to hook up the DVD player separately.

The easiest way to connect this is to find the cable going from the receiver to the TV and disconnect it from the TV. Connect this cable to the back of the DVD player where it says "in" or "input".
Next take another cable and connect it from the DVD player output to the TV. Make sure your TV set is tuned to the correct channel and input and you're all set. If you need further assistance please reply here and I will see to it this gets resolved.

How do i install a dvd player with dish network

Hello, if your receiver and tv are HD you want this hooked up separately to get the best picture. If you just want it hooked up to standard definition then take the cable going from the receiver to the tv and connect it from your receiver to your DVD then connect one from your DVD to your tv.

Help Me!

My tv has several video inputs & this is the way I did mine. I ran the red,white & yellow cable from the dish box to "video 1" on the tv. For the Magnavox I ran a coax cable from the dish receiver out to the rear of the Magnavox & the red,white,yellow from the magnavox to the tv "video 2". Check the dish box to see if the switch in the back reads channel 3 or 4 & set your magnavox to the same. Make sure in the setup you have it set to rear connections. If you have picture on both video settings on the tv everything is golden. Hope this helps.

Can't use dvd on tv

when you hooked this up did you hook to the t.v directly? the dish receiver directly? or do you have surround sound system and hook through it. If you have a menu button on your tv then hit it, scroll to channel listings, once there you will be prompted to start selecting channels scroll down the channels to where it says video then select, that might work or least it does for me anyways. what type of tv do you have that could help me also. good luck let me know if i can help in any way

Can i hook up to my satelite dish direct or do i have to go thru my receiver first. Thanks; Delmar currah@mts.net

The satelite dish will not pass-through the video/audio from your DVD player. You will need to find an open area (preferably DVD selector) on your receiver to input the DVD video/audio. Most satelite boxes are one way devices.

Satelite box --> Receiver (satelite input)--> TV
DVD Player --> Receiver (DVD Player input) --> TV

or

Satelite box --> TV
DVD Player --> TV
