Question about Saws

Reciprocating saw stopped working while cutting

I have had this saw for only a few years to do non-commercial projects around my house. The other day, I was sawing up some treated 2x4s to dispose of them and part way through it just siezed up with the blade fully retracted into the housing. I checked the electrical cable by plugging it in to several other working outlets to no avail. I cannot get the housing apart where the motor resides. The manual has no troubleshooting information. Thanks for any advice you can provide.

How to build a dirt floor 20 by 20 shed

Put posts in ground.
Middle posts taller so roof will have slope
Nail 2x4s across from post to post to hold siding.
One row of 2x4s around bottom, 2 rows 2x4s around middle,
1 row 2x6s or 2x8 around top.
2x6s 2x8 will hold rafters
Nail 4x8 sheets treated plywood onto the 2x4s to make walls.
Install joists across top of structure from one wall to the other wall
Install rafters at correct angle to match slope of roof, be careful to each rafter exactly the same.
Rafters sit on outside wall

How do you remove old plumbing parts

Get a couple of pipe wrenches for parts that you can unscrew, a torch for copper pipes because you can unsweat the solder and pull the pipes apart. You can take these to the recycling center and get a little money back for all your hard labor. Or take a receipt ocarina saw with a few metal blades and cut them into pieces. If you use a torch don't burn down the house, if you use a reciprocating saw don't cut any electric lines. Also if the pipes are insulated there are special precautions you need to remove it

I have a 46 cc with an 18" bar. The first few times I used the saw it worked fine. Now I am up to the 5th use and once started the blade spins and the saw runs as if you are giving it full gas. ...

If this is a new saw and you have only used it a few time it may still be under warranty. Saw sometimes carry up to 1 year warranty on some applications(what you use it for-home-owner or commercial). If the saw is out of warranty it sounds like you have a problem with the rod alignment (actually it's a stiff wire) but it seems that it may be holding the throttle valve open. Check the trigger action to see if is actually smooth and not binding. When you squeeze and release the trigger the saw should stop. If it does not you must find where it is binding. Look under the carburetor and check the action there. Squeeze and release that trigger until you see something either binding or out of the ordinary in the action. When you release the trigger the saw should stop. Have fun. Then get back to work!

Makita JR3000V stopped working

I would have checked the cord first. Cords are a high failure part because they always get bent and pulled and such. Some versions of the jr3000v had problems with field wires breaking right at the field terminal.

New skil HD5510-01 5 1/2 inch trim saw quit running after cutting a bunch of 2x4s

Does it have any sort of blade safety lock?
Did the blade bind and possibly throw the built in circuit breaker?
If so, there may be a small pin or button you press.
Did you try a different electrical outlet?
The one you were using could have a GFP and not able to take the draw of a saw.

What can be done with a scoll saw, table legs?, what uses is the scroll saw for

Scroll saws use a small thin blade that runs up and down very fast. It is used to cut curved designs out of flat wood. Table legs are made on a lathe, it spins a square or round piece of wood to make legs, baseball bats.

Probably shot. You could buy parts, but now worth the time. Probably stripped the gears.

unplug tool and remove handle half and see if dirt is caked around armature and also look for discoloration on the commutator bars that could indicate a cut winding, when the tool was running was it sparking excessvely? Blow out entire area with compressed air and I would also remove the brushes and wipe the contact surface clean and reinstall.
