Re: HP Pavilion DV1000 Screen Replacement
Here's the HP manual for it, too many instructions to post and the pictures should be helpful. Just take your time, figure out what you're going to do twice and then do it once. Much cheaper to take a few hours longer than you'd figured on than to fix a self-made problem: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00312379.pdf (Starts at 5-31)

Hook your laptop to an external monitor and see if the screen comes on...if it does then your lcd screen is faulty and needs replacment. If it does not come on then re-download your video driver/s.
If that does not work. Maybe your lcd inverter or backlight bulb is faulty and needs replacement. Please take time to rate me thumbs up
It may not even be caused by the graphics display driver at all. Your Hard Drive may hae BAD SECTORS and the computer is battling to read the system area of the hard drive... Make alse sure that the hard drive commections are fine

Dear lotaman, I have searched the world to find an exact guide for your monitor but it is impossible. Neveretheless I have found the following guides and they should be more than enough to complete the task in hand anytime.
TIP: The ZV5000 looks and is very similar to the HP DV1000 screen so I would start from there. All guides are very nicely explained.
Please remember to remove the battery before you do any work with the laptop.
