Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Restored laptop to previous date due to virus protector jumping on my screen and not letting me operate the laptop. Let laptop sit while it restored, and went straight to black screen. What can I do?

If you have sensitive and important data here, best solution is to get your harddrive to your local IT specialist for backup and then Windows reinstall.
But if you dont have any important data on it just reinstall Windows and it should be OK If reinstall dont solve your problem then it might be a hardware related problem

The hard drive may have came loose if you turn the laptop upside down and remove the hard drive cover usualy has a small picture or imprint like a stack of cds to let you know what one is the hard drive cover once removed make sure hard drive is pushed in properly then retry laptop if this fails they may have killed the hard drive in which case buy another one and replace it

I can turn computer on but screen is black

Try to hook the laptop up to an external monitor, that will point us in a general direction to help you see if it is a video output problem or a motherboard failure. If you can see a picture on an external moniter/tv, then you may have just lost the screen. If it doesn't produce a picture on either one, then you may have lost the video card and/or output on the motherboard.

Unmountable boot volume acer 3000 aspire

Unmountable boot volume is Hard Disk Partition lost.
There are two partition on hard disk, one is NTFS & FAT32, if this two partition are damage or lost, then you have lost your data also.
Reformat on it are the best way result and put new windows system.

You can recover your pictures after reformat by using a program RECOVERMYFILES, this program even when your windows system got reformatted can recover all of it.

Good luck!

Please don't forget to rate me.
Thank you.

Recovery cds buying

Dont you have a provision to create your own recovery CDs? If you have then create your own. If recovery CDs are available for your model, they will have all the drivers that were there initially and not of items you installed subsequently.

Your laptop's hard drive must be corrupted. Try a clean install of your operating system or try using the recovery cds included with your laptop.

Windows start up

Wait for the chkdsk to complete and let the windows start normally. If you still have the same problem then you have errors in the hard drive or the windows is corrupted because of improper shutdown. Follow the following steps which will restore your system and you will not loose any data ;

  1. Remove all CDs or DVDs from the optical drives.
  2. Turn off the computer using the normal Windows shut down process.
  3. After the computer is turned off, disconnect all USB devices except the keyboard and mouse. This includes USB devices such as a printer, scanner, removable storage, or camera.
  4. Turn on the computer. To start recovery, at the prompt press the F11 key.
    View Picture
  5. In the Systems Restore Options dialog box, select Non-Destructive System Restore (Recommended), and then click Next.
    View Picture
  6. Files copy.
    View Picture
  7. In the System Recovery dialog box, click Restart.
    View Picture
  8. The computer restarts into Windows.
  9. Installation is complete.
