I know I havent done anything to change settings, all i used was the Live cam applcation in the windows folder. now not only has that application lost its icon and my webcam, but nothing else will let it run as its always "Busy"
to check if its working i restarted and straight away clicked on the tool in the start menu to take pictures with it and it was working fine, then i closed it and tryed to make it work on msn and it was ok. then i tryed to go into a video call and it didnt work, and the person i was calling cam box thing had coding in it, but then it worked fine
i tryed to see if it worked on any other applications like skype and livecam, but it kept saying it was busy
ive tryed moving my pictures, deleteing any videos made with it, but its still not working ><
Sounds like you are infected wit ardamax keylogger, it takes control of you webcam as there is no way to disable this feature when it is installed for some reason, this is a side affect of the software
Try uninstalling the Acer Crystal Eye Webcam Application first... After that uninstall the webcam driver... Then reboot the computer... Reinstall the software(Acer Crystal Eye Webcam)... I think it will automatically install the webcam driver. See if the webcam work... Make Sure U have the Acer Crystal Eye Webcam installer packagebefore u uninstall the software! If that still didn't work please provide more info(Laptop model, Operating System).

Good day to you. In regards to your issue usually Acer Laptop users are facing
problem with the Webcam Driver while migrating to Windows 7. While other
devices work with the Windows 7 inbuilt drivers, the Acer Crystal Eye
Web cam device needs an explicit Driver.
You can install this one to make your crystall eye webcam to work. This version works well with windows 7
Have you installed all the software that came with your webcam? if so then yahoo messender is one free program that allows you to interract online with your web cam the software should give you other programs that you can use to either make live vids or take still shots.. the way you use the webcam is entirely in your hands.. experiment with the programs that you installed with your webcam or goto acer site and ask them
The Acer Crystal Eye Web Cam automatically integrates itself into whichever program you are using be it an aftermarket video control or Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger. The only way I know how to bring it up MANUALLY is to go to the Control Panel or your Start menu (in Accessories) and bring up the Scanner & Camera Wizard. When you bring that up, click "Next" and it will start the camera and you will see yourself. When using a program like Windows Live Messenger (version 8.5 is the BEST!) you will have to tell the program what source to use for the camera, Your only choice is the Crystal Eye Web Cam unless you have installed a different cam that sits atop your screen, in which case, tell the program to use that one. You might try downloading a program called YAWCAM from the web and installing that. Just do a Google search for it. Give that a try because the Acer web cam doesn't do video with the limited controls in Scanner & Camera Wizard.
Start by going to windows start and in the search filed type in webcam. When you find the folder for the cam open it and then look for the webcam manager and open it. There will be a help tab with instructions.
The first thing to check is if your webcam is working correctly. If you're running Windows XP, click on the "start" button, then click on "My Computer". Now double click on "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam". It should now show a screen with video from the webcam (probably of your face in front of the computer).
Uninstall, then reinstall with latest drivers this will be where to start, is web cam attached permanantly? if not try it on another pc if it is try a usb web cam with your laptop. In other words try to do some trouble shooting to narrow down where we need to focus our attention to get you going again
