When printing on CD/DVD labels the color smears and/or flakes off. I am using "Compatable" toner. Could that be the problem?

Quite possibly. Third party toners can differ in quality. Of course that's what the printer manufacturers would insist the problem is since that's how they make their money

Hi, I hope you can help me with a problem I have encountered with the Samsung CLP 315 laser printer. I use it and a Canon ink jet printer to over print labels for a friend who makes marmalade. She sells...

You have to change the paper settings on the properties tab before you print. This way the fuser will know to increase the heat and fuse the toner to the thicker paper.

I channged the ribbon and the printer will not print tried several thing but it look like everything goes ok but there is nothing printed on the labels

Check that ribbon is installed correctly. Zebra ribbon only has ink on one side. ink side must be facing label. Use a label to check which side ink is on stick label onto ribbon and peel off.

Use this item to configures the fuser mode associated
with each media type.
Change the fuser mode only if you are experiencing
problems printing on certain types of media. After you
select a type of paper, you can select a fuser mode
that is available for that type. The available selections
might include some or all of the following modes:
NORMAL: Used for most types of paper.
HIGH 1: Used for rough paper.
LOW: Used for transparencies.
HIGH 2: Used for paper that has a special or rough
finish.
The default fuser mode is NORMAL for all print media
types except transparencies (LOW), and rough paper
(HIGH 1).
CAUTION
Do not change the fuser mode for transparencies.
Failure to use the LOW setting while printing
transparencies can result in permanent damage to
the printer and fuser. Always select Transparencies
as the Type in the printer driver and set the tray type
at the printer control panel to TRANSPARENCY.
When selected, RESTORE MODES resets the fuser mode
for each media type back to its default setting.
Hope this helps

Also, what I did was to first back all of the labels out and back into the reel. Turn machine off, then back on. With the peel lever down, as mentioned above, begin to load the labels as shown. The light will blink and it will make a noise as it senses the label. It will begin to draw the label in and you need to make sure you create tension on the labels as they are being pulled in. I accidentally did this by holding pressure against the reel, and sure enough, the thing pulled the first label into place and quit frickin blinking!!! Labels printed fine afterwards!

Specific PDF Document/Specific Print Area Black Toner Not Fusing And Flakes Off

Without a doubt you have a problem with the fuser.
What that is caused from is buildup over time of ink on the heat roller. The teflon coating wears some and the ink sticks to the aluminum instead of pealing off onto the paper.
You then do not get enough heat or perssure to "fuse" the image into the paper.
Replacine the fuser will correct the problem.
