No disc

This is in response to the exchange program. I found the site online from the sony official site.

If its under warranty, then there is no cost, but if you leave the date blank (or the date indicates that your product is out of warranty), then the cost is around $85 - not $12.50

With repairs being what they are, its cheaper to buy a new one...

Your unit is not reading the disc. If you know absolutely that you have a good disc it could be anything from the laser being dirty to too much slop in the laser control arm to an accumulation of dirt and grime. The easiest remedy is to try a cleaning disc preceeded by an inspection of the laser area for any foreign matter such as hair or dirt. I've taken dust bunnies and hair balls out of PS-2 laser assemblies so don't be upset by what you find. If you remove all dirt, run the cleaning disc and still cannot read a disc you'll probably need a tech to look at it. Good luck.

this can also happen when u read a DVD or CD which is not original and has been copied.Some DVD AND CD drives wont read this

Sony has an "Exchange Program" on this unite(SonyDVP-NC615).Whereby you send them your old unite and they send you a refurbished unite for $12.50 plus you pay to ship your old unite to them.You need to first call Sony Customer Service to get a work order!
