No sound When we play a dvd we only get sound thru the wireless headphones. How can you get the movie to play on the vans sound system? On the operation manual they wrote tune your car radio to 89.1...but all we get is a classical music station. Thanks

Open the menu for the unit, press the menu button till you get to FMTX. From there you have a choice of between 88.7 to 90.1 that you can select. Pick one where there is no known FM station broadcasting and set it. You should now be able to select that freq on your van tuner.

You need to buy a FM Modulator so you can transfer sound to your FM Radio system.

See in the manual if theres a way to retune the wireless system most all units do have a little control someware where you can put your cars stereo on to a station with nothing on it and then you simply tune and tweek the adjustment so it sounds good. if you dont see it go to where you bought it or contact the service dept in the owners manual. Good luck

My Toyota DVD system will not transmit sound through wireless headphones or headphones with wires plugged in directly. The sound does play through the van speakers.

I think you will need to disable the Van speaker connection to the DVD system. Can you tell me what is the model of your DVD system. You can test your wired headphones on other devices to see if it works. Then you can check the menu options and see if there is settings about which speakers to use.

2005 dodge caravan, factory dvd... no sound through speakers

My grandcarvan sxt came with a remote for the DVD system and wireless headphones from KOSS. You have to press the headphone button on the remote to change it to headphones otherwise it comes through the main system. With the button pressed we can listen to cd or radio in front while they wear the headphones in back. You might need the remote to change it back to main system. The headphones from Koss are lifetime guaranty and not too expensive.

Some dealers installed a modulator for the radio; look under your driver's side dash to see if there is a small on/off toggle switch. If there is, flip it 'on', tune the radio to 89.1 and you should get audio.

If they haven't installed this, no problem. You can buy a modulator from most electronic stores that is used to play MP3 players through the car stereo; instead of an MP3 player, simply plug the cable into the headphone jack of your DVD player.

DVD sound

Go to your local radio Shack and get the tape adapter that you need. It's a cassette w/ a wire connected to it, you put that into your tape player then the cord/wire plugs into your DVD player and you'll hear the movie through your car stereo. I have one and that's what you need. Enjoy! :)

Wireless headphones

If you're handy, you could rig up a wireless solution to this. The problem is that you have two screens, each presumably playing a different movie. If you purchased an off-the-shelf wireless transmitter accessory, you could connect it to one of the screens. But then if you purchased a second wireless transmitter accessory, and connected it to another screen, you would need to make sure both wireless transmitters were operating on different frequencies, so that each person could wear a different pair of headphones and listen to their own movie. Hopefully this makes sense. You could use either an FM Modulator to do this, or an Infrared Audio (IR) transmitter... Remember, these units aren't like factory installed headrest systems; they don't have the wireless audio transmitter already built-in, so you can't just buy wireless headphones and listen to them.
