Question about Motorola Mobility ic502 Cellular Phone

Outside display damaged

My ic502 was dropped and now the outside display is partially gone. I have another phone, want to know if it's possible for me to exchange the display parts or the entire flip covers.

Only if it's another ic50. if you take both into a repair center and tell them exactly what you want done they should swap them for you.

My LG-VX9200 external and internal screens went blank. The phone is otherwise in perfect working order. There is no water damage. I have tried turning it on and off, taking the battery out, etc. but it...

Was there any shock damage that you are aware of? Any other kind of damage or any notable change you remember around the time the failure occurred?

Do you get any sound out of the speakers?

Does the "outside" keyboard function properly?

There's one connector on the main board in the "base" unit (the side with the QWERTY keyboard) and that has a flex-circuit that goes through one of the hinges to the boards in the display unit (the other side, with the two displays and the smaller keyboard.) If it were something simple, like that connector being dislodged, then any or all of the functions of the display unit (speakers, outside keyboard, and both displays) might be affected.

However, that connector is held in place by the case cover on the base unit, so it really shouldn't have any way to just "come out".

Given that, if it were *just* a broken display, I'd advise that it is possible to replace the display module, although if you're trying to do it yourself, I'd recommend having some electronics repair experience. I had an enV3 that was been damaged twice, and both displays were cracked, but it was otherwise fully functional; I was able to restore it by replacing the display module with a $38 unit from eBay. See this thread for a little more detail.

However, I'm confused by your comments "otherwise in perfect working order" but then later: "reception has gone fuzzy...cannot make outgoing calls." If it were truly *just* the displays, (and especially if there was a shock event involved...) I'd say a replacement of the display module *might* do the job. But given there are other issues, I'm not as confident that just replacing the display module has a good probability of solving things.

I dropped my ic502 now the screen is dark can i swap the flip portion from another ic502 with mine

Yes you can, but its not an easy repair.
There is a delicate data ribbon that joins upper and lower sections of handset and is partially contained in the hinge assembly.

Ive got a LG GT 505 and screen has cracked on the inside not on the outside screen i have never dropped or miss used it in anyway what should i do

Hello,

While the screen is cracked on the inside, does it show any display?

From your explanation, I believe the screen has been damaged and needs to be replaced.

Take care.

My LG EnV3 was dropped and now is white when the phone turns on and the internal screen just shows colors. help me please!

Dropping it may have dislodged one of the internal components. I would bring it to the Verizon store and see if they can fix it or give you a new phone.

Phone keeps trying to boot over and over motorola ic502

You have a damaged ROM so you can not access the phone. My phone has damaged ROM and i have to wait 10 minutes for mine to load. If yours is completely wrecked then you need a new phone, There is no point trying to repair.

Cell phone dropped in water - red dot showing - options?

you don't need to actually drop your phone in water for there to be water damage.
simple things like having your phone in the rain, in the bathroom while you shower, around a hot tub, or possibly even if it's really humid outside can set this water damage sensor off.
it just gives phone companies more ways to void your warranty.

hope this helped.
