Re: Power Source

Some of these inexpensive small screen tvs have a small switch in the back to switch between 120 volts and 12 dc. I used to find loads of these sets that complained that unit wouldnt work on ac but did on dc or vis versa Its somwhere on the back around the dc or ac plug connections. Good Luck

Re: Power Source

Are you certain the polarity of the connections to the TV are correct? If you connected them in reverse you may have damaged the TV. If there's a fuse in line check that too. BMW

Is the HD CCTV camera analog compatible? I would imagine not if it says HD in it's name. But you can try using a converter box with it because if the camera is outputting HD you need to convert it to analog which the TV can understand.

I have 2 handicapp vans with TV's. I need to upgrade them to digital I suppose since neither works now. Where do I get the device for mobile conversion and operation?

If you continue to operate the same will need to purchase a conversion box. This conversion box will except digital signals to analog and provide an outstanding picture to your already installed TVs. You may have to search for a battery type device for the van you have. But I'm sure you will seek and find. Check at a reputable electronic store....the discounts stores more than likely will not have these! Good Luck!

Channel numbers above 13 do not come in. This started after a power failure. All numbers are received on another TV at that site. How do I program the stations that should be received?

Go into the TV's setup screen and set the tuning mode for "cable" or "CATV". It got set back to "air" after the power failure. When set for off-air tuning, only channels 2 through 13 tune properly. Set for cable and rescan channels and you'll be set.

Can I convert this tv to a digital converter? It has no external connections except for the electric plug. I use for camping and for emergency power loss. Thank you for your help.

I was hoping I'd be able to find a manual or service info in my files once I knew the model, but no luck. So I don't know for sure on your TV, but almost every set Panasonic made had an external antenna connection. They usually used a mini jack, normally on the rear or one of the side panels. If you find a connection on your set, just pick up the appropriate adapter from Radio Shack. (The plug on an antenna cable is called an F-connector, so you can fling about tech terms.)

If this set truly has no external antenna connector, you can still hook a converter box to the set. Get a 75-ohm to 300-ohm converter (also called a balun). This has the threaded F-connector on one end and a length of flat two conductor antenna cable with terminals at the other end. Simply use an alligator clip jumper wire to clip one of the terminals to the TV's built-in rod antenna and turn the set to channel 3 or 4 for the converter box signal.

The bigger problem you might have is if you use this set without an AC power source. I haven't yet seen a converter box that allows you to use a DC power source. They all have built-in supplies and need AC. It might be possible to add a DC input jack to a converter, but I've never tried it.

Hope I've been able to help you. Thanks for asking here!

Tv runs on 110 but not 12volt

There is a fuse on the DC power line for AC/DC sets and you can start by making sure it isn't blown. The fuse may be in the cigarette lighter plug itself, or inside the TV. If you find the fuse blown, replace it with one of the same value and try it again. The fuses sometimes do go for no good reason. If there is some internal trouble with the TV, the fuse will go again and you'll know for sure.

Konka model 1508U 12 v dc ADAPRTER PORT

Most devices are Negative to Earth, Chassis and Positive to the Center Pin on the "Adapter". So probably any 12 - 14 Volt say 4Amp well regulated, or Switch Mode power Supply probably would power your unit.. If you don't know the exact voltage Start at about 6 Volts and work up until it works correctly.. I often use a switchable power Supply to find the right voltage and then get a fixed supply to suit.
