Question about Tefal Ultraglide 1549 Iron
The iron has developed a problem insofar as hot water is being shot upwards either scalding my hand or only just missing my eye.
The water is issuing from I believe its the anti-calc valve. I believe this is dangerous. Any help please?

yes unless the thermostats gone.
It,s not really financially practical to replace parts, will cost you parts-and labour.
cheaper to get a new iron, unless still warranted.

Re. getting the power cable out - the rubber-cased unit simply pulls out from the main body of the iron. I had exactly the same problem with our iron and fixed it by bending the brass mounting ever so slightly so that contact was made again.

That is probably because the contacts to the element at the base of the iron are broken.
To disassemble you have to remove the casing, then remove the steam pump at front top of iron and then undo the safety screw mounted on the front of the base plate.
