Question about 3DO Heroes of Might and Magic 4 for Windows

1 Answer

Minimum Requirements Hi. My heroes of might and magic 4 says that it requires at least 128 MB of memory, and so it won't run (although i have 2 GB, which should be more than enough.) Then when i try to install it anyway, at some point the setup it crashes and says "an error occured during the move data process: -117. What can i do about it?

I have 4GB of ram which the installer detected but still said the memory check was failed. I ignored the failed memory check and installed anyway as I know my computer meets the requirements! When I go to start the game I get the windows blue screen with something about a page file and a .dll file. The memory is definitely the problem, but the problem is with the software not the hardware as every other game I try runs fine and the game installer is detecting the correct amount of ram.The campaign editor works fine but the game exe just crashes the computer.

It appears the game doesn't support your memory!??
Never heard of that before...
You should check for new mainboard drivers, or maybe the memery isn't correctly inserted on the pins on your mainboard.

If that's not it, you should probably reinstall your PC. Probably a little error in some Windows library that can't be solved by rebooting...

I suppose you can play other games on that PC, right?

Good luck,

Yannick

Im trying ti install heroes 4 and it say I need 128mb of memory... i have 2 gb of memory and says it fails to meet requirements...should i look for a patch? Im using windows 7. thx for ur help

Hello,

Your using Windows OS 7, which is fairly new. This is great for programs but not for games. Heroes 4 is a older game, so there are some compadablility problems.

As for your memory and HD space you should be fine since the requirements are low.

Solutions: Look for programs which allows you to run virtual OS of pervious generations of windows (such as windows xp). This should solve your problem. Otherwise if you have 2 HDD on your laptop/computer you can make one drive into a older OS. Then run the game from that HD.

Good luck, and rate my response.

Seems like your graphic card is not supported. Its a older version. My first solution would be update your driver for your graphics card: http://driver.wareseeker.com/download/visiontek-radeon-9250-agp-8.072.rar/1e97d07a01 or http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/VISIONTEK_RADEON_9250_AGP/4-172246-1.html

If that doesn't fix it (which I don't think it will), you might just have to buy yourself a better graphics card and/or computer.

Still lagging in WoW!

Answered originally by TimIsHectic:

Assuming you mean a bad framerate and not actual 'lag', the problem would appear to exist in your processor, as it is old and outdated. and only just fits the minimum requirements to RUN THE GAME, not run the game well.

Answer: You should upgrade your CPU to a Pentium Dual-core at least.

WoW System Requirements

Recommended: Dual-core processor, such as the Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2
Memory: Minimum: 512 MB RAM (1GB for Vista users)
Recommended: 1 GB RAM (2 GB for Vista users) Video: Minimum: 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting with 32 MB VRAM Such as an ATI Radeon 7200 or NVIDIA GeForce 2 class card or better
Recommended: 3D graphics processor with Vertex and Pixel Shader capability with 128 MB VRAM Such as an ATI Radeon X1600 or NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT class card or better
