Question about HP StorageWorks MSA1000 Network Storage Server

MSA 1000 I have 2 HP DL580 G5 connected via FO Adpater with HP MSA 1000. All of them are in a windows cluster (windows 2003 server Enterprise). Suddenly the servers lost the connection with the MSA. I tried to use the clusterecovery tools but I can't access the storage urgent matter

Turn off MSA and cluster, turn on MSA and only one server, you will be able to access the data

Windows 8 is not very friendly with much. you will most likely have to upgrade your devices to windows 8 compatible ones. The only other thing I can think of is a patch in software, firmware upgrade on devices not working or an emulator of some kind if they exist for you products.

MSA 1000 Error


First off all,i do really like the concept of your website.It's a real good gimmick!
I had to replace the whole controller (which was defective) to get msa 1000 working.

That message states that a HDD fails on the enclosure and one spare quick in! Now the MSA is rebuilding the information on the new HDD

Adding additional drives to an MSA20 unit,


1- Turn Off MSA and server
2- Insert new disks
3- Turn On MSA first then server
4- Access ACU and new HDD will be listed

Windows 2003 server can't see drive on a MSA 1000


Can you go to the server and right click on my computer, then select disk management, then see if the physical drive shows up there. This may be as simple as a drive already having a drive letter assigned to it.

Two drives fails simoultaneously.


I personally would suspect your Power Supply is dishing out "Dirty Power"
I would sort this problem out first.
This is probably what destroyed the "Other" two in the "Same two Bays" sic
