Gateway MX6448, screen is stretched problem is not screen resolution

I'm running an XP OS and something happened and my screen is stretched horizontally. I've updated the graphics drivers and I can adjust the screen resolution. Perhaps it's the monitor settings...? Any sugggestions on corrections?

That's adjusting the screen resolution, correct? that doesn't help. I discovered my laptop is registering 2 monitors... and perhaps my graphics driver is 'jacked up'

I have recently bought acer aspire 4750g and when i connect it to my sony bravia lcd thru hdmi it didnot give accurate size screen on my lcd

By not giving an accurate size, do you mean that everything looks stretched, is it not filling the screen, or is it cutting off the picture at the edges?
If it looks stretched or not filling the screen, you need to change the resolution of your screen. To do this in Windows Vista or 7 you need to right click on an empty portion of your desktop and click on "Screen Resolution." From there, click the drop down menu labeled "Resolution" and adjust it to something that looks right. crasher35_12.jpg
In Windows XP, right click on an empty portion of your desktop and click on "Properties." From there you need to click on the "Settings" tab, then move the slider inside the box labeled "Screen Resolution." Change it to something that looks right. crasher35_13.jpg

Hi im using Gateway MX6448, initially i'm using Win XP and now i upgrade to Win 7, but i cannot find display Driver? Can U Help me, Urgent.

I checked the Gateway download site and only found the two video drivers listed on this page:

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?ref=step&st=browse&platform=10022&model=10886&os=10405&type=10083

You can try these and if they do not work, I can only suggest that you get on your support site and chat with a technician to see if they have windows 7 drivers for your notebook that are not posted on their support site.

Monitor screen display stretched center but squashed/narrow edges

On the monitor itself, I am guessing this is a desktop? There are buttons for adjustment. Look for the menu button around the bezel of the monitor and press it. Scroll through the settings for the default setting and press that. Once the default settings are made for the monitor, then you can go to the graphics settings available through windows to get the resolution straightened out.

I use Microsoft XP and I use a 24" Samsung widescreen monitor. Is there any way I can get my programs to fill the screen without stretching and distorting. I have a friend who has a Dell widescreen...

Its probably your screen resolution, you probably want it set to something with a 16:9 or 16:10 ratio so 1280x768 or 1280x960 or if you are like me and like lots of real estate 1920x1200

When the laptop is booting it just gets to the wallpaper and stop

Disconnect any devices (i.e. external keyboard, mouse, printer, cameras etc). Have just power attached. Shut down and reboot. What happens?

If still nothing .. get into the CMOS\BIOS/Setup

Reset CMOS/BIOS to defaults .. save and restart

The biggest removable door held on by about 6 screws on the bottom of your laptop is what you need to remove. Once inside you will see your heatsink! Very easy to access, I wish you luck.
