Try entering " 0 " or " 7 " for all of the digits in the codesome factory settings are just a single digit so that you as the owner can set it to a numbr that you prefer. I don't know if the previous owner to your vehicle has changed it or if your manufacturer is this considerate or not but this is worth a try atleast. Good luck, I hope it works for you, I know it can be very agravating.

What is the radio make and model?

You need to give us make and model of the radio, or if that is the car factory stereo, make and model of the car.

dy140 does not tell me anything, there is no car radio branded or called dy140 on the market. all I can get if I input dy140 on google is an head gasket part number.

We cannot provide any specific help if you do not give us this details, as all car radios have different unlock procedures, depending on the model.

    Please provide the required information.

    Thanks

dy140 is not corresponding to any car stereo model, at least I did not find any.

    Ginko Oct 24, 2008

All I can find for dy140 is a head gasket part number.

See if you can locate the service plate with model number etc. and type here all numbers you read in there.

If it is a Nissan Almera 2003, the original car stereo is a Clarion, and there is written Clarion on it.

  • Ginko

If it is the original car stereo for Almere, the serial number will start for C or CL , you need to read the service tag and post here model number and full serial number.

I need the radio code for a 2000 ML 450 bought used and code card is not available. the vin # 4JGAB72E5YA179735

Hi,
According to your requirement you have to purchase radio code or you can use car radio decoder software to decode your car radio. If you have experienced a dead battery, disconnected the factory radio harness or disconnected the battery to the vehicle then you must need radio code. Better to purchase a radio code. Before purchase determine of your radio type and do the following steps. The radio must be in LOC mode NOT in INOP mode. Turn the ignition ON. Press and hold presets buttons 2 & 3 or 1 & 4 for approximately 10 seconds. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. You will then have fifteen seconds max before the next step must be performed. Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one. You now have a six or four-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 3 and the last three digits are from STEP 5. If you have a four digit number, it will show all four digits at the same time. Then purchase the code mentioning your car model and unlock the radio. You can purchase your code from radio-code.com by credit or debit card.

The battery on our Ford Falcon was drained and the radio display stated 'code'. After a couple of failed attempts at entering the correct code the display now just states 'err' flashing on the display. ...

Radio code is specific for each and every car. It is specific like anti theft code. You can get it by providing your VIN# and registration details in authorized dealership. Nobody else can provide you. If anybody can provide you that , then there is no meaning of security for your car.

My radio is in lock out mode and will not operate because I entered the wrong code in before finding the correct code in the owner's manual

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then enter the correct code. This should clear the locked mode.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

How to unlock car radio for volvo v70

In the owners maunel you should have a card with the radio code on it.

The radio will only display EEE or OFF when the wrong code has been entered and the radio is locked depending on model - this is due to the battery being disconnected and the incorrect radio code being entered 3 times. You will neet to reset the radio. To do this the radio has to be on for either 2 or 4 hours - see the manual for your model. If you got the code from a card from Volvo, and it didn't work, then the radio has been changed or it has been reset by the dealer and your current code is invalid. You will have to pull the radio and find the serial & model number, and get Volvo to look up the code for that radio or the dealer may be able to lookup the radio code via vin# from Volvo. The dealer can reset the radio and enter a new code. When the radio is "ready" to accept an unlock code the display will say "codE". You will need this code if your battery is ever disconnected.

Replaced battery in my 1999 Nissan Altima GXE and now radio won't turn on. It is a factory installed cd player/radio. When I called the dealership, they told me Nissan does not use radio codes. Is this...

If you have a theft deterent radio, then when you changed the battery, you left it disconnected too long, more than 30 minutes will cause the radio to erase the chip that has the instructions on how to operate. In the future do not leave the battery disconnected for too long a time. It is customary to clip a 9 volt battery across the neg and pos leads of the battery to hold the memory instructions. I am afraid you are going to have to take it to a dealer to have the radio reprogrammed as they are the only ones that have the programming tool. I think they charge about 25 bucks to do it

When undoing the battery the radio wont turn on again appearing need to input again the security code

By design whenever a "code radio" loses power such as disconnecting the battery upon power up u will have to enter the correct code in the correctv sequence. The logic behind this is the radio doesnt know if its being stolen or not, but thats the security aspect of the design.

Delco factory radio display is saying loc

There is a code. This usually happens when the battery dies, when you disconnect the radio or disconnect the battery. Unfortunately only the dealer or delco repair shop can unlock it.
have a great day!
