Your audio output transistors are shorted and your unit is staying in "protect " mode to protect your speakers from 40 to 60 volts that is being sent at them from the shorted outputs. If you can use a meter you won't need the schematic MOST likely because the outputs are USUALLY the only parts that short out. The output transistors( or chip ) are mounted to the large, finned heatsink. The #'s on the transistors start with "2SA-" and "2SC-" followed by numbers. There are two output transistors per channel. If your unit uses an IC for audio output then the # on the IC will be "STK-" followed by numbers. These parts are available from tritronicsinc.com. Good Luck!

Part of your PowerSupply is Frito.
Probably the +/- 15 volt rails, could be other.
Check inside power voltages, probably some regulators are gone.
Preferably get a tech unless you have the know-how and test equipment...

Left channel of power amp section is dead. Preamp section is OK. What is best place to start with power amp section

Start with the final amplifiers ( big transistors) and work your way back. The finals are protected by thermistors and other devices that try to protect them. Also if there is a relay, the contacts on the relay may be burned or carboned up.

Hi John
For sure, can at least get an understanding of what may be wrong. You hear the power relay click in, but perhaps no secondary click of the speaker protection relay.  This is generally caused by a fault condition in the amp, resulting in a DC offset voltage being present in the speaker outputs, then detected by the protection circuit, does not allow the speakers to be connected to protect them from damage.  . How far do you want to get into it?

Fisher ca 9025 amplifier

The amp is in protect mode. Something in the final stage is defective. This is usually caused by shorted output transistors. This unit is worth getting repaired. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$50 range.

replace capacitor 110 (47uf 25v), it fixed the exact same problem for me, it should cost about 25 cents and take about 1 hour of your time :-)

Technics SUV500 problem in stand-by

The problem is not the relay. The unit is trying to start, but detecting a problem and shuting down again. Check the output transistors for a shorted condition.
