I got a new game for XMas and had to update the software to version 4.10 (i think) and now the start button doesn't work. The game works so long as I don't have to hit the start button. Any suggestions ?

How to reformat Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console?

To do a factory restore on the PSP just hold the power button up until the system fully powers off. Once the system is fully powered off hold all at once start + select + square + triangle, while holding these four buttons turn on the PSP, once the PSP is on let go of these buttons, it should take about a mintue or so for the PSP to load back up. You should see the settings you first saw when you first turned on your PSP.

To reformat the memory stick just go to settings > System Settings > Format Memory Stick,
be aware by doing this you will lose all the information stored on your memory stick, including music, pictures, games, etc.... Hope this helps, best of luck, don't forget to rate :)

Okpsp won't show anything on the screen even when i turn it on

Make sure the PSP's battery is inserted properly. Press down on the battery release button on the right side of the PSP and then check to make sure the PSP logo is visible and right side up. If you do not see the PSP logo or it is upside down, the battery is inserted incorrectly.

Ensure that the battery is charged, plug it into power and see if it comes on,if it does then all you need do is to charge the psp fully and start using it again

If it still doesnt come on then it might be a manufacturing defect, please call PlayStation support hotline at 1-800- 345-7669.

Psp start button not workin home menu not either

try dismantling your psp and see the inside of it, you said you cleaned the buttons. try to see if the chips inside the psp are sort of dirty and stuff, the access points in wear the buttons touch, if this still doesn't work, just go to a original SONY STORE.

When i try to turn on my psp it doesnt work. the light comes for a few seconds a and turns back off. The screen doesnt work too. ITS all black. Last thing i remeber i downloaded something and tried to...

Try to performa a Hard Reset:

1- make sure the battery is fully charged.
2- Hold the power switch to on (up) for at least 10 seconds.

3. switch it back on. (sometimes you have to do it twice, but for now just try doing that one time).

If that doesn't work, try Holding the Power on for 20 to 30 seconds.

If that doesn't work remove the battery overnight.

or try another battery (it could be dead/defective/dead cells, etc.)

I can't find where is the option for usb charge in settings-system settings.... I need to charge my psp with an usb cable, what to do?

didnt i already try to answer this, gosh ok man if you have a 1000[phat psp's] it doesnt have a usb charge option

so since your not telling me ehat version you have, its in system settings and if it not there for your 2000 or 3000 psp it could be the firmware,

so make sure your looking correctly, look in system settings and its one of the top options called usb charge set to on,

now if its not there then check on the bottom of your psp where theres a barcode sticker, if you see PSP-1000 then you cant recharge it cause it doesnt have the feature

Hold down on the center button while hold down on the menu button. The apple logo will appear. Your Ipod is now rebooted.

Is the new battery fully charged? Usually it takes 6 hours on a new battery.

My R button is my hold button

Acutally is not like R=hold, the fact is, your R button is more likely to be semi-automatic or fully automatic now. Even on a fully working psp, when you press select or home button while you holding the L button or R button, the same thing will appear as your own psp.

Let you know a temporary solution, hold the R or L button or both firmly for a minute, your psp might come back to normal for a few seconds or something.

Look for some professional repair service to get your L or R repaired.

Let me know if this works.
