Question about Washing Machines

3 Answers

The door on my indesit wd12x washer dryer will not open. The machine has finished the cycle and was on the tumble dry mode when it finished. The handle feels loose like a spring has sprung. Any suggestions how I can open it and get my clothes out.

my washer dryer wont open either.

i think i might have done more damage trying by trying it too many times.

i have took the top panel off and found the door release catch, but it wont release the door. i thought about breaking it just so that i can open the door and fit a new catch, but i dont want to make it worse. i also dont want to pay an engineer because I'm skint.

Slide in a piece of string around the door. if lock is on the right, pull round the door til the pieces of string are at left of the door and pull left quite firmly.

I got an engineer. he said there was a name in the industry for my type of machine - its called indesit, but use your imagination as to where you can slot the letter "H"...

it took him ages to get the door open. thankfully it is now fully repaired at a fraction of the cost an indesit engineer would have charged me

How do i do drying only

From the document I see, it is only a matter of pressing the "Dry" button. This is from the manual, available at http://www.lg.com/us/appliances/washer-dryer-combos/LG-WM3431HW.jsp and selecting the "Support" tab. On the right, there will be a "Washer/Dryer Combos Manual" link, which will download to your computer. Listed under "Dry" in Section 9 is the following.
• Drying options are easily selected with the Dry button. • For most even drying , make sure all articles in the clothes load are similar in material and thickness. • Do not overload dryer by stuffing too many articles into drum. Items must be able to tumble freely • If you open door and remove load before dryer has finished its cycle, remember to press the Start/Pause button. • By pressing the Dry button, you can select "Normal" - "More" - "Time" - "Off" - "Low Temp" - "Less" • Your dryer can handle a load of up to 9 lbs. (4 kg) dry weight of articles. • When drying cycle is completed, [Cd] (Cool Down) is displayed on the Multi display. • Cool Down is set automatically when the drying cycle is complete. • If clothes are not removed promptly when the drying cycle ends, wrinkles can form. • The Cool Down feature periodically tumbles, rearranges and fluffs the load to avoid wrinkles for up to 4 hours. • The message [Cd] will continue to display until the clothes are removed or the Start/Pause button is pressed
Hope this solves your problem. I highly recommend downloading the users manual, it is a wealth of information and will prove useful in many circumstances.

Washing machine door locked indesit WD12X

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 5 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

Works for other machines..............And please rate me if helped

Indesit is70 tumble dryer

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail (meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) that might need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can trip out or burn out (meaning opencircuit)
4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehave programs that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcode showing you were the fault is.
5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also be the fault.

Clothes dryer

washer dryer and dryer ony machines differ in a huge way. the big diff. is the drums on each are completly different sizes. the conventional dryer has the bigger, giving better air flow and tumble to clothes. the w/d has a smaller drum thus less air flow and less tumble between clothes. the best way to see this effect is remove half the clothes after a wash and then select a drying cycle. u will see that by giving the clothes more room to tumble free of each other rather than tumbling in a large ball will dry them. washer dryers are really only a marketing tool.
