There will be a subwoofer pre out( needs to be amplified) or if it don't have subwoofer pre out you will have to send the audio out to a stereo reciever that has inputs for the optical ( digital audio signal )( to a stereo or surround system that has 5.1 or higher has full surround sound ) and of course L and R audio inputs and the subwoofer pre out , then the subwoofer pre out will have to be amplified by a reciever , subwoofer amp , surround sound , ect

have you amplifird the subwoofer pre out? because thats what you have to do if there is a subwoofer pre out on the dvd player

otherwise you will have to follow my steps above , these are the only ways you can do it!

plz rerate or I can no longer help you

if you still want to do this , there is no way to use that type of cord input plug. but if you wanted to , cut the end off of the input wire and attach to the spliced wire an rca jack type which you would have to cut and splice as well , twist the thin positive wires together , then twist the ground wires together

tape them up good then plug it into the subwoofer pre out

You must have an external cable connection from the DVD audio output to the surround DVD input. As well there should be an output from the surround marked subwoofer. Connect them with the proper cable

I HAVE A SONY 5 DISC DVD SURROUND SOUND THEATER SYSTEM. I'M TRYING TO CONNECT IT TO MY TV BUT I DON'T GET ANY SOUND BUT GREAT PICTURE.

Not really enough info here to help much yet.

Helpful info would be:

1.Are you hooking up coax or optical surround from the DVD and have you set the amp to look at the correct type of input?
2. I could be much more specific with help if knew the model number of the surround system and DVD changer.

How to connect dvd player to AV reciever

S-Video is a media type that only carries video. Unfortunately the LG unit was designed only to be a self contained surround sound unit. There are only video outputs to the television on this unit. Because of the unit having surround sound capabilities, LG felt that their wasn't a need for audio output. You would need to buy a new DVD player to allow audio from the DVD to your new Yamaha unit. Good Luck!

Surround sound hookup question?

It looks like all you'll need to do is hook up audio out from DirecTV to audio in on the surround sound system. Sony has an interesting hookup recommendation guide on the product support site:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=DAVC700&LOC=3

That should give you the connection options. The short answer, though, is to connect the best audio out from DirecTV to an audio in on the surround sound and then choose that option in the surround sound system when you want to watch TV.

Connect DVD Player to logitech X 540 Surround System

Bad connection on that one speaker, if you have tested the system with other equipment and it works thn you MUST have a bad connection INSIDE you DVD player. If your DVD had a whole channel out on your output amplifier I beleive then 2 speakers would not work so more than likely you have a bad solder joint inside system for DVD output
