It's a workaround, but it works if you're going to leave your phone unattended...
First, go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock Turn the passcode on and create a password to protect your phone--set this to the time you prefer for your phone to go into locked mode.
Next, under the same Passcode Lock screen, set the "Show SMS Preview" to off.
Lastly, when you're going to be away from your phone, set the phone to Airplane Mode under general settings.  By setting to airplane mode, you won't get any new information pushed to you.
If you're not in airplane mode, it will still show on your home screen that you received a text message from a specific number but it won't preview the message. In order to retrieve the message you will have to go into the sms function, which will require that you enter your passcode.
It's not perfect and it requires you to think about it, but it will work for you.

WhatsApp was working fine on my Apple iPhone4 until I just exited from one of my listed chat groups. All of a sudden my WhatsApp is hung and showing a blank page. The WhatsApp icon shows one message not...

Hello,
Sometimes WhatsApp has a problem with various versions of its iPhone 4 software.
Check if there is an update available on the App Store. An old version can cause this. If there is no new version available and your iPhone 4 is not Jailbroken, then please do the following:

1. Restart Whats App after iPhone 4 shutdown.
a. Hold the home button and the wake/sleep button at the top till the Slider to Turn off the iPhone appears. Slide to power off the device.b. Wait 5 seconds after the device turns off, then turn on the iPhone 4.c. Start Whats App and check if you can access your chat message.
2. Reinstall WhatsApp (if the above method does not work)
a. Delete the WhatsApp applicationb. RE-Install it via iTunes/App Storec. Start the app and then register it. This is not a long process and you dont have to get authorisation done like the first time. This method works best if you switch countries and ensures that you always get messages.
In case your device is Jailbroken with Cydia, let me know the version so I can help you with that.

My droid r2d2 SMS app freezes while typing text messages. It will show a blinking cursor, but will not continue to type. I usually have to go back to the home screen at least 3 times, then reopen the text...

Mine started this today, R2D2 Motorola A957 Droid 2 which was OTA upgraded to Android 2.3.3 about a month ago (when Verizon began pusing the over-the-air upgrade from FroYo to Gingerbread). I have a large digest of SMS text messages and less than 2 dozen MMS (pix) messages on the phone. I thought that using a TXT backup app, clearing the TXT conversations out completely, and then trying a "brand new" text message would fix the problem, if it was strictly an out-of-memory issue for the stock TXT messaging app, but no joy.

One change I recently did was to move most of my apps to SD (the 8GB MicroSDHC card originally included with the R2D2) so that the internal memory is freed up for better performance, or so I hypothesized. As far as I know, none of those Android market apps are tied to TXT, mainly games, multimedia and productivity apps, so baffled by whatever has changed with TXT composition.

My description of the problem: When I slide out the QWERTY hardware keyboard to type a TXT (either new or reply), a few key presses into typing, the cursor stops responding, and then the screen backs out (as if the BACK button were pressed), and a few more of the final keystrokes begin a "search" of my messages. Example, let's say I meant to type "I'm fine, how are you?" My R2D2 begins the text normally as: I'm fine, how ...then there's a frozen screen, and it returns to the TXT conversations list and begins a search for messages with: areyou. Very frustrating since not only does it bail out of the message thread, but it also doesn't save the characters I've typed as a draft. Previously, when a TXT composition is interrupted by incoming call or other screen activity, the stock app has always saved the message as a draft so I can simply select the conversation from the list and continue. Nope, now I have to start over. And can you tell that my SMS messages are never short anyway? Having a TXT conversation became a ridiculous ordeal today as I retyped and retyped the same reply that was rapidly becoming obsolete.

So now I'm looking into backing up anything I can from my phone, and will attempt a factory reset/recovery if I cannot find a solution tonight. I can't keep up with business over TXT and who knows what else is going to go bonk with my business smartphone tomorrow when I will really depend on it to behave. If you find a solution, I hope to find it posted here. Thanks in advance to anyone out there with some helpful suggestions!

I want to print out several text messages from my iPhone 4 to my computer.

If you want print out few text messages then you can take the screen shots and email the pictures to your computer for printing or simply AirPrint the screenshots. You might also consider third party apps like iPubsoft iPhone Backup Extractor to print out your text messages. This article discussion worth a look:

My iphone shows full wifi signal however, when I try to use safari or access the web I receive error messages saying I'm not conncected. Can anyone help?

Hello,
It is not clear to me if you are at home or in a public location. Please keep in mind that in certain public location there is free WiFi access, so you are connected to the router and you see full signal but you are not yet authenticated to reach internet.

Usually by opening safari you should see a login page but sometime safari refuse the connection. It happen to me too quite often at McDonald. The only possible solutions I know is to try to delete all the cookies and if it still doesn't work the second option is asking somebody else the URL for the login (I know it is ridiculous)

Please let me know if you need additional help or if the above is not your case.
