Click on Start>Printers and Faxes.

Look for your printer. Double click it.

Click Printer>Cancel All Documents.

That should remove all of them from que. Be patient. It may be slow.

After they are gone, try to remove the software.

You may also be able to left click on the printer icon and choose Delete. Then try to uninstall the software.

I have tried to download the driver for my lexmark x1240 all-in-one printer to my dell windows 7 laptop and cannot download it without an error please help

Try this approach. First, uninstall the existing Lexmark X1240 printer driver from your pc.
  1. On your computer, go to Start.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark X1200 Series folder.
  4. Go to Tools.
  5. Uninstall.
After the uninstall process, reboot your pc when prompted.
When your pc turns on, check your system if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit. Go to Start > right-click on Computer > click on Properties. Take note of the System Type.
Use the link below and download the file that corresponds to your system type:
- Lexmark X1240 Printer Driver for Windows 7 32-bit - Lexmark X1240 Printer Driver for Windows 7 64-bit
Execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.
I hope this helps.

Use the Windows 7 driver from the Lexmark website. You may need to uninstall the existing Lexmark X1240 driver first before installing the new one. Instructions on how to uninstall the Lexmark software available at http://bit.ly/8ZH59T. Then, check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by going to Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. You can download the Lexmark X1240 driver for Windows 7 at:

Lexmark X1240: tried to uninstall and reinstall

Please make sure that the printer is actually VISTA compatible (it should say it on the box) If it is compatible then there is a good chance that the drivers need to be updated. (even if you just bought it) Your first option would be to download the driver directly from Lexmark.com (forget the CD that came with it) Your other option is to download the drivers for LEXMARK X1250 (I have tried this many times with other printers and they worked just fine) I have also used these two web sites to download the drivers for other printers and it seems to work ok so far. Here are the links to the X1250 http://driverzone.com/device.php?id=81664 http://www.siliconguide.com/drivers/device/112/ ...Best of luck to you, I hope I was able to help.

I can't get my printer to work, and I can't find the disk to reload the info. It is a lexmark x1240. thanks Misty

Your driver can be downloaded here, directly from Lexmark:

http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?lxkprod=Lexmark+X1240

Choose your operating system from the list, and download.

Be sure to unplug the printer from the PC before installing the software. Only plug it in once the on-screen instructions tell you to do so.
