Question about Philips Magnavox DVD/VCR Dual Player
I have my timer set to record for me everyday. There has never been a problem up until a month ago. My player usually always records the first couple of shows because they are back to back and on the same channel. As far as the other programs which are later in the day, the player will come on and then cut off. The timer light just blinks after it cuts off. I don't know whats going on. I thought that it might have been the tapes, so I went and bought new ones. Same result though. I'm thinking now maybe the heads need to be cleaned. Can anyone help with this problem before I get too frustrated and just go buy another one?
This is a common repair if when you press play on a tape and the the tape stops
it is a slipping belt or there is a clutch disk that starts slipping when it wears down
if it is only not recording the time recording then there could be something wrong with the timming circut. unplugging for a while can reset this. if not it needs repair
dirty head would result in snowy , messed up picture
dirty roller that pulls the tape will result in tapes eaten , tape stop and machine lockup
