Question about Canon imageCLASS MF4150 All-In-One Laser Printer
Press print or copy and get "set paper again" "set toner again". Can find nothing in the manual about this error. Unplugged and replugged. Removed and replaced toner. Removed and replaced paper. Nothing changes.
I had this problems and did everything suggested on here. Installed firmware update (which just changed the error message - didn't get rid of it), removed paper, changed size, replaced paper, tried new cartridge. Nothing worked. Finally found a tiny piece of paper that must have been blocking the sensor. It was on the left side near where the power cable is. It was less than an inch square. Got it out with some tweezers and problem solved.

I had the same problem and found the solution on Alex Luigi's blog. The sensors are fooled into thinking that the toner cartridge is not present. The solution is to take all the paper out and reload the paper. I did this and found a single sheet of paper caught up in the paper feed path. I removed that page then turned the printer off and back on. The problem was fixed!

here is the solution for this problem
this is caused by a paper covering the tonner sensor
open the cover ,lift the tonner ,see down on the left side..there wiill be a bit of paper sticking out...remove it.. thats it
this has been a prob in my printer for the past one year..only this solved this error

Like most others here, found two very small pieces of paper behind the toner cartridge. The larger one was blocking the sensor allowing for the set paper again/toner again error message. The second smaller one I suspect was the cause of the paper not feeding straight all the way through and causing docs to be printed crooked on the paper as well as lots of paper jams. That had been going on for months. Thanks for helping me find the solution to two frustrating problems!

Hi - I realize these posts are old, but I had to add another tip:All I did was to open the top manual feed thing, and on the left side was a protruding, small white plastic tab. I pushed on it, and now the printer works. Still getting toner message, but paper message has gone bye-bye.

I had to post seeing i spent hours on this fax machine... after installing the new firmware, removing the paper etc i still had the same error message. I smacked the thing a few times... shook it... flipped it in all different ways in the hope the piece of paper would move out of the sensor... no such luck, finally i was just about to order a new machine i asked one of my staff to see if she could find teh stuck piece of paper, she looked and found it straight away... moral of teh story - get other ppl to find the paper because its most likely infront of you (if u remove teh toner, it should be on the left side).

Have you tried changing the paper size under "additional functions"?
