Usually when the OSD will not come up, you are looking at a problem with the video boards. Is the power button flashing or showing a different color, or does it look normal in the On position. If it's flashing, then the problem lies with the mainboard not powering up properly. It might not hurt to try a power drain at least:

1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use.
2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board. 3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on.
If this doesn't work, the TV will likely require service.

Problems can often occur with even relatively new Samsung LCD, LED Television. Some customers report their screen going black shortly after turning on the television, and flickering picture even though the TV's speakers continue to produce sound. You can test and rule out a number of things before concluding that your TV has a hardware defect.
First, check the input settings of your television. Often, users will experience a dark screen when first turning on their television if the selected input corresponds with a turned-off or unplugged input, such as a gaming system or DVD player. If the problem persists, try reconnecting all cables on the back or sides of the television. It's possible that one of your cables has gone dead. If you have access to other cables, try swapping these in and see if the problem persists. Some customers report that turning the television off and unplugging it for an extended period of time, up to 24 hours, can fix the black-screen issue. Samsung TV - Power Supply Issues If you've tried all of these suggestions and problems persist, it's possible that the power supply inside the television is defective or broken. The power supply for most Samsung LCD, LED televisions will cost around $150, with labor costs of around $250. Unless you have a fair amount of TV repair expertise, this is probably not the sort of repair you'd attempt yourself.

Insignia 42 lcd hdtv purple pink screen

If DVD input works likely a issue with the signal.

If using a cable or sat box or even a receiver inline--unplug each and after several minutes plug back up to allow each unit to try to reboot.

If using component connections from box or receiver they may be the issue or not. In that case if a box is feeding signal via component or even HDMI the box (if reboot does not fix this) may be bad.

Another simple test if cable is used with a box is disconnect cable going to the box and connect directly to set--that way you will know if box is or is not the problem.

Make sure your putting the TV on the correct input. Also you might need to right click on your desktop and go into your display properties to turn on your second screen.

No picture on 32'' Vizio TV

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
Voltage checks would be needed to locate the bad board, Try rebooting everything by unplugging from AC for 30 seconds. If there is no TV menu , no backlight.
It probably a bad panel and not worth repairing.
If there is a TV menu try using the component or HDMI inputs, if its works you need a mainboard, but can use the TV on those inputs instead of fixing it.

Plasma tv has no picture but green led is on

If you are not able to bring up the TV's onscreen menu while the picture is blank, then you have a problem with a video board.  If the menu does come up then usually the problem is with the device connected or its related input jack or cable that is in use. You may have to try another input or cable to be sure, but only if you are not able to see the menu.

Blue Screen in TV Mode

I have an Audiovox FPE1506DV with the same problem: it plays DVDs okay, but when I try to watch TV, it only shows a blue screen, but sometimes you can hear the sound. Cable input is fine.

When going through the Menu option in TV mode, the "Display" option is disabled; you cannot select it with the remote.

SOLUTION: I unplugged the device for about 5 minutes, plugged it back in, and it has been working fine ever since. It's a very strange problem, but rebooting by UNPLUGGING (not just powering down) seems to have fixed it.

I am having exactly the same issue. I also had a similar issue witht a 17" Dell LCD monitor (minus the 'no input'). I was able to resolve that by loading the video drivers from the Dell site. It makes me think that we need a Sharp video driver but I have not been able to find any.

Volume and menu does not display

I had this problem on my Aquos (LC-46D62U). It was NOT a hardware problem. I recommend turning off the television. Next unplug the television for 5 to 10 seconds. This resets something for the television. Plug it back in and turn on the television. You should now be able to get your volume and other on-screen displays.
