I am unable to find the DGB-500BK replacement water filters. The filter I have is a long black vertical filter with holes in it. The only filters I see online are the boxy white ones. They look completely different from the black ones. Anyone know where I can find these?

I need a replacement filter for my kenmore coffee maker item#69768

If anyone is looking for the Kenmore Coffee Water Filter model 69768 - Sears / Kmart re-branded the filter under the Cuisinart name making them near impossible to find under the Kenmore name. HERE is the link to order them under the Cuisinart name at SEARS (its the EXACT same filter and they come 2 to a pack)

Will the coffee maker work without the charcoal water filter?

Hi,
Yes, the coffee maker will still work... the charcoal filter is just there to help make the coffee taste better...with most waters it does not matter...high chlorine content water is where it makes the most difference..

Does not complete the brewing cycle. Only cycles 1/3 of the water. 1-4 cup is NOT turned on.

First remove charcoal filter. Your coffee maker is clogged with hard water grime. Run 5 cups of vinegar through it twice, then follow with a couple of rounds of water to get the vinegar taste out. It will be as good as new.

Cuisinart by the cup burns 8 out of 10 times

Go ahead and replace the charcoal water filters on the Cuisinart- they are usually available at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Before you insert the new filters, run a pot of water only through the coffee maker with 2 tsps lemon juice per cup of water. Also, make sure you don't use the 1-4 cup setting - it actually double-heats the water. Hopefully, this should resolve the issue. Good luck!

Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. The charcoal water filters improve the taste of the coffee, although they are definitely optional. You can get replacement filters at Bed, Bath & Beyond; Williams-Sonoma; and sometimes Lowe's.
