Question about Dell A960 All-In-One InkJet Printer

A960 All in One Printer not working with color cartridge

My color ink was running low and when I finally received my new color ink cartridge, I changed to the new one. It did not work. So I sent it back to the company, received a new one, and it did not work. I ordered from a different company (remanufactured), and it did not work. (I have ordered from them before and they have been fine). I have run the nozzle clean, alignment page, etc. Nothing works. I have also cleaned to pad with windex and colors are coming out on the paper towel. However, when I try to print the black comes out fine, but the color cartridge does not print any color! This is our business computer, and we are needing it to continue working in our business ASAP! HELP! I'm not for sure what else to try, as to get this to work. Thanks,

    Already checked that out. It was not checked to print in black and white...thanks.

    I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT WITH BLACK INK CARTRIDGES-SOLUTION IS @ INKJET OASIS--SOAK CARTRIDGE IN 1/8-1/4" 50% RUBBING ALCOHOL & WATER FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES & PUT 2-3 DROPS SAME SOLUTION IN PADS. REPLACE CARTRIDGES, RUN TEST PAGE & PRINTER IS WORKING AGAIN! CLOG IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    i have Dell A960 printer. suddenly one of the colour in the priter( blue)is not printing even thou i replaced it with the new catridge.please help

    Replaced black ink cartridge thinking it was empty, but bought a new one on-line. It didn't work, so I bought yet another one at Office Max and it also does not work. Very frustrating as the cartridges run almost $30 a pop! Will try the inkjet oasis solution posted, hope it works!

My new black ink cartridge wasn't working at all. I sprayed the cartridge with windex and let soak for a minute. I wiped dry with paper towel and there was black ink on my towel unlike before. The windex unclogged it and it worked like new!

On the Properties menu on the Quality/Copies tab there is a small box in the lower right that says:

"Print Color images in Black and White". Make sure that the box is NOT checked.

Can Dell A960 ink cartridges be refilled and re-used or not?


A lot of inkjet printer manufacturers make you purchase their ink cartridges by installing a chip in the cartridges so when the cartridge is empty it cannot be reused by filling the cartridge.

My Dell A960 will not print from word documents but will print maintenance test page, align/clean. I purchased new black/color cartridges from Office Max -- printer will not print. Placed old Dell...


Hi,

Remove the cartridges and clean the contacts ( electrical contacts - golden colored ) with a lint free cloth and re-install them back in the printer.

Try this and check if it prints the test page.

My documents will not print the colored part. just Black and white


I would first check to see how low the color cartridge is. If it is out of ink, you will need to replace it.
Your Lexmark has two cartridges, one for colors and one for black.
To check the level of the ink cartridges, go to the Lexmark Solution Center. This is the software that was installed to run you Lexmark printer.
Check the cartridge ink level images that appear on each tab. If a cartridge is low, or if you have received an Ink Low message on the computer screen, install a new cartridge. An empty or low cartridge is marked with an exclamation point ( ! ).

To order print cartridges:

1 }}--> }}-->Open the }}--> }}-->Lexmark Solution Center .

2 }}--> }}-->Click the Contact Information tab.

3 }}--> }}-->Click Ordering Ink and Supplies.
For help installing a cartridge, go to How to install the print cartridge.

Missing black ink cartridge


Unplug the printer from the wall. Also remove the power brick for 60 seconds. This will reset any error messages you get from the printer. Plug everything back in and power on the printer. Take out the Dell black cartridge and reseat it. Put it back in and do the same for the color cartridge. When you close the printer it should try to print an alignment page.

Dell a960 50c error on cartirdge error message ..nothing seems to

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.

Cartridge Error 50 C in manual A 960 No l


One solution is to replace cartridge snap-down levers  (the levers that snap down inside the dell printer to hold the cartridges, blue for color and black for black). This seemed to have work for several people with the same issue.

Dell A960 AOI Printer problem


Have you reset the ink levels for your printer? Some printer software refers to it as that others ask if you have installed a new cartridge.

 

Do maintenance on the printer, such as clean heads, print test page, head alingment, etc and see if that fixes it. You can get to all these options through properties

I cannot offer a solution. However, I can attest to the EXACT same problem word-for-word. Can someone please suggest a solution?
