This site is very useful as by changing the drop down menus along the top of the page you can view other errors for your machine and for other models and makes. You can also use the link to get a pdf format Service Manual for your machine.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Error #48 means that there is a problem on the print head. I would suggest going to control panel, find your printer, right-click and open "properties", and have the printer do a head cleaning as well as a printer head alignment.
Make sure there is not any paper jam inside the printer. Open the side plate and back side of printer. Then you can see fuser assembely. Then make sure there is not any jammed paper and roller is working properly if roller is broken then you need to change it. Then fix fuser assembely then check. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using Fixya.
According to HP, this error code means that a handshaking (connection) error occurred at some point in the process from the sending fax machine. They suggest to try the fax at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved, or that in some cases the error can occur if the other fax machine is using a fax format incompatible with the HP fax.
I'm assuming it's SC545. It pertains to temp not being correct in the fuser. Possibly a thermistor, thermal fuse or lamps are bad. It's one of the codes that need to be troubleshot and replace whatever is needed before clearing the code. This is to prevent further damage to the machine. Thanks Colin
Hi Jakabi. That error code means there's a defective module in the printer. It's not user replaceable, unfortunately. The only solution is to contact the store where you bought it, or Canon's tech support to get a replacement.
That comes directly from Canon support ! I know it isn't what you'd like to hear, but unfortunately it's the only way out of it.
Thanks ! cheebster.
