Question about HP OfficeJet V40 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Scanning problems It tells me options not set and won't let me do it. I downloaded drivers and nothing. I know there is a way to go to start, ????? does anyone know how to manually get it to scan...thanks

This is what you do u press options and set them. I know simple right why didn't we think of that!

Won't scan


Hi Betty,

Try this utility and it should give you detailed information about whats missing when you try using scan option from HP Solution Center.

Click here >> HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download this utility and run the program.

If it gives any Red X on Drivers, you might have to uninstall the software and reinstall.

My HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One give me an error of no scan options refer to device for troubleshooting, why?


>Original CD supporting your OS? If supports uninstall the drivers & reinstall it in auto play mode.
>Down loaded drivers won't supports scan option.

I have a Lexmark x7170 3 in 1. I got a new-ish laptop with Vista and now my scanner doesn't work. I've tried download drivers, but nothing seems to work. Are the compatible at all?


In this case Try to Do a Wia scan i will tell u how..........
Windows Vista: Go to Start/All Programmes/Windows Photo Gallery...........
There you will see an option saying File click on that and now on the drop down click on Import from Scanner or Camera.........Select ur scanner from that list and click on Import.............
If it doesnt scan and does the same thing it insists that there should be a Problem with the scanner.........
If that works..........
Software Problem.............
Uninstall and Reinstall the software................

I am trying to scan a page and it is telling me no scan options are available.


Hi

You don't say how you're trying to scan.

You can scan by pressing the Scan button on the printer control panel or by opening the HP Solution Center program and clicking on Scan.

If neither of these options work then connect and disconnect the printer cable and if necessary test a different cable.

If none of the above fix the problem, the printer control program is probably either corrupted or partially deleted, so uninstall the program and all its components in Add or Remove Programs and then reinstall the program using the Easy Install option.

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Uninstall a Program) > highlight - Remove.

If you don't have the driver and applications disc, you can download them from:

http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/support-drivers.html or your country specific www.hp.com HP site.

Can't scan with my HP officejet 4255 all-in-one

Hope you doing well this year and i am sure that thing will go good as well

the problem you mentioned : When you press the Scan button on the product control panel, nothing happens. A scan does not start.

This issue usually occurs because you do not have the full feature driver installed for the product. Button functions on the product control panel require a full feature software and driver installation for Windows Vista.

Follow these steps to download and install the full feature software from the HP Web site.

1) Turn the product on.
2) Disconnect any USB cable from both the product and the computer.
3) Open a new window to browse to the Select Software and Drivers page:
Click on the Following Link to get the Updated drivers for all OS

DRIVERS HP Officejet 4255


4) Click / select the Operating system
5) Click the Full Feature Software and Drivers option.

6) Click Download only . This option allows you to install the software at any time after the download completes.
7) Click Save , and then browse to the location on your computer where you want to save the file.
8) Click Save . The software downloads to your computer.
Tip: Make a note of the place that you saved the file, in case you want to install it at a later time.
9) When the download is complete and you are ready to install the files, click Open Folder , and then click the downloaded file. The file name ends in .exe .
10) You can accept the default location to save the files. Click Next , and then wait while the installer extracts the files to prepare for installation.
11) When the Install Wizard starts, follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

Method of Scanning with Paint
To scan a document using Paint in Windows Vista , follow these steps:

1. Click the Windows Vista ( ) icon, click All Programs , click Accessories , and then click Paint .
2. Click File , and then click Import From Camera or Scanner .
3. Make any desired setting changes, and then click Scan .

Method of Scan using Windows Fax and Scan
The Windows Fax and Scan option is only available in the Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista.

1. Click the Windows icon ( ), click Programs , and then click Windows Fax and Scan .
2. Click New scan .
3. Click File , and then click Scan .

IF YOU GO TO RICOH.CO .UK GO TO THE DOWNLOADS PAGE AND LOOK FOR DRIVERS AND DOWNLOAD THE LATEST DRIVERS FOR PRINTER DRIVERS THIS MIGHT HELP THE SCAN SETTINGS FOR PDF/TIFF ARE ON THE NEXT PAGE AFTER THE TEST/PHOTO.. THE GOBBLEDEE-GOOK IS BECAUSE THE PRINTER DRIVER IS EITHER CURRUPT OR YOU HAVE A MISS MATCH IN DRIVER LANGUGE BETWEEN THE COPIER AND THE COMPUTER..TRY THE RPCS DRIVER FRO PRINTER.. Scan problems

I would try some of the utilities that HP has available for download at their site.

Select your operating system, and then you can do one of two things:

1) Try running either the Print or the Scan diagnostic utilities available at the bottom of the download page.

2) On the driver download page, click '
Automatically check to see if you have the latest software and drivers ' at the top of the page just to make sure your driver is in order. It might resolve some issues. So, there's an option. Brother dcp-7020 can't scan and get cc027 error


Ok I know how to fix this issue, this involves going into the registry editor, also only available in windows XP, so be careful!
Click START -> RUN and type in REGEDIT
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> BROTHER -> CONTROLCENTER -> (version number) -> (model number) -> DEVICEINFO
Look in the right hand window for ENABLEWIA, if the value is set to 0, set it to 1.
Reboot your computer, should be fixed!
