I have a desktop PC hooked up to a modem and also a Lynksys router hooked up thru the same modem that drives a laptop. The PC has no problem with the internet BUT the laptop is very unpredictable in the wireless connection. Sometimes it works fine for several days and at other times it just does not connect. Help!!

Re: Lynksys Connectivity Problem
Occassionally, the wireless router needs to be turned off and on. The are some issues with regards to the stabitlity of these entry level wireless routers. What I do is put a timer at the outlet to reset it every morning. cheers!

1. Disable the DHCP in the belkin router.
2. Take the cable from the LAN port of the Linksys router to the LAN port of the Belkin Router.
3. Dont touch anything else in any of the routers.
This should help
Ok if you have DSL this router will NOT connect via PPPoE so no user name or passwords for dsl. But if you have a cable modem just plug the network cord from your cable modem into the WAN port on router... then plug the computers into the 1-4 ports on the router.. you might need to reset your Cable/Dsl modem after everythings hooked up.
As you ave the modem in bridge mode and also it works ine with wired connection just follow the instruction below for wireless
1.Login in to the router - > wireless settings
2.Configure your wireless using SSID and WEP and save settings
3.Laptop : Using windows wireless client configure the client using the same SSID ,WEP as configured in the router(view available wireless network in wireless properties)
(by default OEM wirelesss client takes over the wireless configuration in branded pc.to disable it and use windows wireless client..control panel ->administrative tools -> services -> enabl2 wireless zero configuration)
14.after all configuration shut the desktop, laptop, router, mdm and pwr them in seq..first modem and then router and then your desktop or laptop
