Question about Air & Gas Compressors

1 Answer

Error code I no longer have the warranty. If it was that simple I wouldn't have signed on to this website for help. I've got two options now. Either just toss the printer in the trash, or try to fix it myself, and if I fail THEN toss it in the trash. So bottom line is I got nothing to lose now by tearing into the gizmo. Is this possible at all or totally out of the question?

You said the unit is 3 months old correct? then it would still be under the manufacturer warranty. It is possible for it to be repaired did you go through the steps I gave you?
Thanks,
Lee

Owners manual

There are very few places that carry Craftsman parts and manuals other than www.searspartsdirect.com. Unfortunately your manual is no longer available through them and the only reference to the manual (part number SI-30-14-5-A) on a web search is to the Sears website. Most of the parts for your compressor are available on that website. If you have a specific question you can post it here and I'll try to answer it.

I have a Campbell Hausfeld WL651500AJ and it wouldn't go past 50PSI. I went ahead and looked up the issue and found many people with the same problem, most of which people said the reed valve were the

Air compressors generate a huge amount of heat compressing air. It is not unusual for the copper tube to be too hot to touch after three minutes of running. Replace the tube and see if it fixes your problem. Another common cause of only getting to 50psi is a bad seal between the piston and cylinder. There is no need to use sylicone to seal anything on the pump, just make sure all the gaskets are in good condition and all screws are very snug, don't overtighten as stripped bolt hole threads are a bear to fix.

I just purhcased this air compressor and cannot get any pressure to bulid in the tank. Even when the drain valve has been closed, there is still air being released. Any thoughts?

This a new machine correct. Did you let it run with the valve open for the 15 minitues this seals and lubes the pistion Ihave the same machine and i know how noise it is aswmeing the pump is pumping there are 3 other paces it could be leaking. The blow out valve the regulator or the inlet hose if the drain is closed. You are going to have to run your hands around the the regulator area and the hose something must be leaking and you won't be able to hear it. It dose have a one year warranty mabey you just got one with a ploblem mine work find i've had it for almost two years with no complantes good luck

the problem is in the check valve where air enters the tank.when leaking it lets air pressure up to the air piston causing the motor to stall upon restart.replace check valve.average cost of part 15 to 30 dollars.simple fix

I have a CH WL611701AJ compressor. The motor starts and runs for approx 15-20 seconds before blowing breaker. I have replaced both capacitors, still blows breaker. Removed piston to allow motor to...

This may seem a bit simplistic but how are you hooked up to the outlet? Are you using an extension cord or is the compressor plugged in only using the supplied power cord?
If you are using an extension cord then you are going to pop the breaker every time you use it. Infact the manual states

"Never use an extension cord with this product. Use additional air hose instead of an extension cord to avoid power loss and
permanent motor damage. Use of an extension cord voids the warranty."
Air compressors don't like extension cords.
It simply draws to much for an extension cord to handle.
Depending on whether or not your warranty is out there is a simple solution. Find the biggest gauge extension cord you can

If your not using an extension cord and it's ran in the past where it's plugged in now then check the circuit because there must be new draw on the breaker

You said the breaker is 20amp. correct? The compressor should be run on a breaker dedicated to the compressor only.

Even though you should use a longer hose instead of a longer power cord you can get away with it. But forget about wire gauge size you need to think wire diameter. The extension cord I made for my compressor is approximately 3/4" thick. That is the only way I was able to use an extension cord on mine. A good place to get that size cable is a boat supply store. The cable used for shore power on boats works.
Hope this helps but if not please let me know and I'll try and help anyway I can to solve your problem.

Error code 5100

being that it is only 3 months old i would have it serviced under the manufacturer warranty. 1-800-OK-CANON call that number and you can locate the nearest authorized service center and the service will be covered. If you still need assistance let me know. Please take a moment to accept and rate my original solution as I strive to provide fast and accurate service.
Thanks,
